Bully Online, a fan-made multiplayer mod for the PC version of Bully: Scholarship Edition, was permanently shut down in January 2026, about a month after its Early Access launch. The developers’ notice said the official server, script development, source code, webpages, launcher downloads and user account data would be removed. The notice did not explain why; reports that Rockstar or Take-Two may have intervened were speculation, not a confirmed cause.
What was Bully Online?
Bully Online was a fan-made project intended to add multiplayer to the PC version of Bully: Scholarship Edition. A preview published by Time Extension on October 28, 2025 described plans for role-play, earning money, custom vehicles and minigames. The project used the DSL script loader.

The preview said the team planned a Ko-fi-supported Early Access release in December, followed by a wider release. It described supporter benefits such as behind-the-scenes material, a player nametag, an in-game digital camera and priority when joining servers. Those were plans reported in October, not confirmation that every benefit or launch detail was delivered.
What happened when the mod shut down?
On January 14, 2026, PC Gamer reported that the mod had disappeared about a month after launch. On January 15, Time Extension reproduced the developers’ shutdown notice, which said the project was ending “forever.”

Why was Bully Online taken down?
The shutdown notice did not give a reason. It said a fuller explanation was planned for a video by SWEGTA and included the line: “For now, though, know this was not something we wanted.” The reproduced notice does not identify its author by name and role.
PC Gamer speculated that a cease-and-desist might be involved, and Time Extension characterized a legal warning as likely. Neither report established that Rockstar or Take-Two issued a demand, and the team’s notice did not confirm one. The cause therefore remains unverified in these contemporaneous reports.

Is Bully: Scholarship Edition also gone?
No: the reports distinguish the fan mod from the base game. Bully Online targeted the PC version of Bully: Scholarship Edition; the shutdown concerned the mod project and the resources listed in its notice. These reports do not establish the game’s current retail availability.
