Black Ops 6 Zombies camos unlock through a per-weapon sequence: nine Military camos, two weapon-specific Special camos, then four Mastery camos. Military camos mainly require critical kills, while Special conditions vary by weapon; check the in-game Camo Hub for the live requirement on each weapon. Weapon leveling is not required to start earning camos.
How Zombies camo progression works
- Obtain a weapon. Camo progress can begin immediately; there is no weapon-leveling gate.
- Unlock that weapon’s nine Military camos in order by completing their displayed challenges.
- Complete the weapon’s two Special camo challenges. They are weapon-specific and can be completed in either order once available.
- Complete the weapon’s Mastery challenge and meet the cross-weapon prerequisite for the next Mastery tier.
Military and Mastery camos are unlocked separately for each weapon. Special camos are earned with their originating weapon; after unlocking one, it can be equipped on another weapon once that weapon has completed its Military camos and has Special-camo access in at least one mode. These rules and the no-leveling requirement are described in Activision Support’s Progression in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Military camo challenges
The standard Zombies Military route uses escalating critical-kill totals. The following thresholds are reported by Dot Esports’ season-updated guide; melee weapons and launchers are exceptions and use kill counts rather than critical-kill counts. Confirm the current requirement in the game’s tracker, especially after updates.

Special camo challenges
Each weapon has two Special challenges, and their exact conditions differ. Examples in Dot Esports’ current guide include kills with an Ammo Mod equipped, kills against Vermin or Manglers, kills while Pack-a-Punched or at a specified rarity, hipfire kills, rapid critical kills, and kills against enemies affected by tactical equipment. These are examples, not a complete roster for every weapon or seasonal addition.

Zombies Mastery camos
The four Zombies Mastery camos are Mystic Gold, Opal, Afterlife, and Nebula. Each has an individual weapon challenge, but completing that challenge alone is not enough: progression also depends on earning the preceding Mastery camo on a designated number of weapons. Check the game’s current class eligibility and weapon-count prerequisites rather than assuming one count applies to every class.

How to check your exact progress
- Open the Camo Hub and select Zombies.
- Choose the weapon and review its Military, Special, and Mastery rows.
- Check the displayed condition and progress before starting a challenge; Special requirements can differ between weapons.
- For a Mastery camo, confirm both the weapon’s individual challenge and the class-wide prerequisite shown in game.

Do I need to level up a weapon before earning Zombies camos?
No. Activision Support says camo progression is available as soon as you obtain the weapon; weapon leveling is not required.

How many critical kills are needed for the Zombies Military camos?
The reported standard thresholds range from 100 for Slate to 2,000 for Purple Tiger, with the intermediate totals listed above. Melee weapons and launchers use kill-count requirements rather than critical-kill requirements. Check the in-game tracker for the current weapon-specific row.

Why is a Special camo requirement different for my weapon?
Special challenges are weapon-specific and vary by weapon. Consult that weapon’s Camo Hub entry for its exact current requirements.
Can I unlock Nebula just by completing its challenge on one weapon?
No. You must complete the Nebula challenge for the weapon and satisfy the applicable Afterlife prerequisite across the designated weapon set. Check the current eligibility shown in game.
