What is the best weapon on Terminus?
The Beamsmasher is the defining weapon to know because it is Terminus’s unique Wonder Weapon. Its two modes support different jobs: use the soundwave mode to control multiple enemies, then attack them with the Aetheric beam or conventional fire. That is a tactical inference from the modes described by Call of Duty, not a tested damage ranking.

There is no supported, current ranking here of the best conventional gun or the strongest high-round loadout. The official Terminus walkthrough is an introductory route for the first ten rounds, focused on solo play; it says similar strategies can be used with friends. It is not a complete weapon tier list. Call of Duty’s Terminus map guide recommends making spending choices based on your needs and describes an SMG or Shotgun Wall Buy as an option in the Engineering / Mess Hall area.
What does the Beamsmasher do?
Primary fire: Aetheric beam
The primary mode emits a solid Aetheric beam that deals damage. Call of Duty describes the Beamsmasher as roughly the size of a light machine gun, with a single barrel; it reloads by replacing a side-mounted DAPP canister. Alternate fire: focused soundwaves
The secondary mode sends out focused soundwaves that slow multiple targets rather than directly damaging them. Those enemies become easier to damage with the beam or conventional weapons. In practical terms, use the alternate fire to hinder a group, then switch to a damaging attack; the slow itself should not be mistaken for a direct-damage shot.
How do you get the Beamsmasher?
The official sources cited here establish that the Beamsmasher is Terminus’s unique Wonder Weapon, but the official map walkthrough does not give a complete acquisition recipe. It would be misleading to present a step-by-step build or unlock route as confirmed from these sources. The general Zombies overview says weapons can also come from Mystery Boxes, but it does not establish a Beamsmasher-specific acquisition method or guarantee.

Is the Ray Gun on Terminus?
Yes. Call of Duty’s launch materials say the Ray Gun is available across Black Ops 6 Zombies maps, alongside a unique Wonder Weapon for each map. Terminus’s unique weapon is the Beamsmasher; Liberty Falls has the Thrustodyne Model 23. That distinction matters: the Ray Gun is not Terminus-exclusive. How to choose and upgrade ordinary weapons
Ordinary weapon choice on Terminus is a balance between immediate firepower and the costs of opening routes, buying perks, and upgrading. Essence buys Wall Buy weapons and pays for doors and perks. Salvage can be spent at Arsenal stations to improve a weapon’s rarity or add an Ammo Mod. Pack-a-Punch provides a substantial weapon upgrade. These systems can improve many weapon choices; they do not establish that one conventional gun is best for every player or round.

Use the opening route to manage Essence
In its November 21, 2024 walkthrough, Call of Duty recommends activating the first Aetherium Maturation Pod early and checking the ground for a dropped weapon. Later, around Communications / Storage, it suggests opening a route, exploring the Armory, saving toward Stamin-Up, and activating the next Pod. In Engineering / Mess Hall, it advises choosing a route with Essence conservation in mind, visiting the Arsenal, and considering an SMG or Shotgun Wall Buy.
The guide says a Rare-or-higher weapon before the first Pack-a-Punch can be a useful spending strategy, while emphasizing that players should spend according to their needs. Treat that as an early-route suggestion, not proof that a particular weapon or rarity is optimal throughout a longer match.

Reach Pack-a-Punch in the Bio Lab
Continue through either Seaside Path or Sea Tower; the routes have different Wall Buys, perks, and access points, and the other route can be opened later. At the Bio Lab, activate the final Aetherium Maturation Pod and raise the submerged platform to access Pack-a-Punch. The walkthrough presents this as part of its first-ten-round route. What the official route does—and does not—tell you
Dan Herrera’s official Terminus guide, published November 21, 2024, is a general walkthrough for the first ten rounds, with solo play as its focus and a note that similar strategies can be used in co-op. Its route and purchase suggestions are useful for understanding early progression, but they are not weapon testing or evidence of a high-round tier list. The official Zombies overview is also 2024 material; later balance updates may affect weapon strength, and the cited pages do not establish a current ranking.
