The important distinction is that PC access depended on the launcher: Steam and Battle.net used a fixed global unlock, while the Xbox app for PC and PC Game Pass followed a local-midnight schedule.
Activision’s requirements also go beyond the CPU and graphics card. An SSD, TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, DirectX 12, broadband internet, and an AVX-capable Intel or AMD processor are required.

Black Ops 7 PC release times by platform
For the original launch, Steam and Battle.net unlocked globally at 9 p.m. PST on Thursday, November 13, 2025. That was midnight EST on Friday, November 14. The Xbox PC/Game Pass version followed the regional schedule used by Xbox: midnight local time on November 14.

For Steam and Battle.net, representative conversions were 9 p.m. PST on the U.S. West Coast, midnight EST on the East Coast, 5 a.m. GMT in the United Kingdom, 6 a.m. CET in Central Europe, and 4 p.m. AEDT in eastern Australia. PC Gamer’s regional launch guide lists the time-zone conversions.

Changing a time zone was not a reliable way to move a Steam or Battle.net unlock. Secondary coverage reported that changing a device or account region could affect access on consoles or through the Xbox PC app in some regions, including New Zealand, but that was not an officially guaranteed method for every storefront.
Preload date
Activision’s launch guide said digital PC preloading began on November 10, 2025, at 9 a.m. PT. Availability depended on the relevant digital purchase or subscription entitlement. The original announcement and PC feature details are documented in Activision’s PC launch guide.
Official minimum PC requirements
These are Activision’s desktop minimum specifications. They represent the entry-level configuration, not a promise of a particular resolution or frame rate.

Activision warns that laptop GPUs with similar names may differ from their desktop counterparts and may not be supported. A laptop’s model name alone is therefore not proof that it meets the requirement. See the official PC system requirements for the current support-page wording.

Activision describes this tier as targeting 60 frames per second in most situations with High settings. That is the publisher’s target, not an independent benchmark or a guarantee for every resolution, map, mode, driver version, or background workload.

Activision’s sources disagree on the video-memory figure: the November 2025 launch guide listed 16 GB, while the later support page, marked March 11, 2026, displayed 12 GB. That discrepancy should be treated as a revision in the publisher’s requirements rather than silently combined into one number.
The category itself combines two different use cases: high-refresh competitive play and Ultra settings at 4K. It is not a precise universal benchmark target for both workloads.
TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are mandatory
A PC can meet the headline CPU and GPU specifications and still fail the game’s launch or security check. Activision requires:

TPM 2.0 is commonly available as a firmware security feature on relatively recent systems, but it may be disabled. Secure Boot is configured in UEFI firmware and depends on a compatible Windows installation mode. PCs installed in legacy BIOS mode may need a conversion from MBR to GPT before Secure Boot can be enabled.
Firmware labels vary by motherboard and laptop manufacturer, so there is no universal BIOS menu path. Check your system documentation and Activision’s TPM and Secure Boot support information before changing firmware settings. Intel Arc graphics also require Resizable BAR; Intel provides relevant Resizable BAR documentation.
Storage, drivers, and compatibility notes
116 GB is not necessarily the final install size
“116 GB available at launch” means free space required for the launch configuration. It is not a permanent promise that the complete installation will always occupy exactly 116 GB. Downloads, decompressed files, patches, and mandatory updates can require different amounts of space.

Windows 10 is the minimum-tier operating system
Windows 10 64-bit appears in the minimum specification, with the latest update required. The recommended and competitive tiers specify Windows 11. It is therefore more accurate to describe Windows 10 as the minimum configuration than to call it fully equivalent to the recommended environment.
Older NVIDIA cards need extra caution
GTX 970 and GTX 1060 appear in the minimum list, but Activision says official Game Ready driver support for Maxwell and Pascal architectures has ended. Those cards are limited to their last recommended drivers. Meeting the minimum table does not mean receiving current driver support or delivering ideal performance.
AVX and Intel Arc
At the time of the support-page update, only Intel and AMD processors with the AVX instruction set were supported. Intel Arc owners must also have Resizable BAR enabled. These compatibility checks are separate from raw GPU performance.

Black Ops 7 is available through Xbox on PC, PC Game Pass, Battle.net, and Steam. The best choice depends on your existing library and entitlement:

- Variety of multiplayer modes and play options
- Steam: a natural fit if your PC library is centered there. Its original unlock followed the fixed global Steam/Battle.net schedule. The Steam listing is a separate storefront entitlement.
- Battle.net: convenient for players already using Blizzard’s launcher for Call of Duty. The Battle.net version is not interchangeable with a Steam purchase.
- Xbox PC or PC Game Pass: useful for subscribers who want access without buying the game outright. Confirm that your subscription includes the applicable PC entitlement through Xbox Game Pass. This version followed the local-midnight Xbox schedule rather than the Steam/Battle.net global unlock.
Storefront choice also affects launcher management, account linking, and where the entitlement is recorded. Do not assume that owning the game on one PC storefront automatically grants ownership on another.
PC features Activision promoted
Activision promoted more than 800 customization options, ultrawide through 4K display support, a built-in benchmark tool, AMD FSR technologies and frame-generation support, sub-frame mouse polling, RGB iCUE support for compatible Corsair hardware, and optimizations for handhelds including the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. The PC announcement also described Ricochet Anti-Cheat changes tied to TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot. These are feature claims from Activision, not independent performance tests.

- Confirm TPM 2.0 is enabled in UEFI firmware.
- Confirm Secure Boot is enabled and Windows is using a compatible UEFI/GPT configuration.
- Update the graphics driver where your GPU still receives supported drivers.
- Check DirectX 12 support.
- Verify AVX support on the processor.
- If using Intel Arc, enable Resizable BAR.
- Check the exact laptop GPU model rather than relying on a similar desktop name.
- Leave more than the launch minimum free if an update is pending.
