Activision’s current published specifications, updated March 11, 2026, call for at least 8 GB of RAM, a supported CPU and GPU, DirectX 12, AVX, TPM 2.0, Secure Boot and 116 GB of free SSD space. The recommended tier targets 60 FPS in most situations at high settings; it is a publisher target, not a guarantee for every PC.
Current Black Ops 7 PC system requirements
The following are Activision Support’s currently published desktop-PC specifications, updated March 11, 2026. Every tier requires broadband internet, DirectX 12 compatibility and an SSD. Activision says trial, beta or Insider versions of Windows may not be supported, and the requirements may change.

Activision describes Recommended as targeting 60 FPS in most situations with all options set to high. Competitive is intended for high frame rates with a high-refresh-rate monitor, while Ultra 4K targets high frame rates at 4K. These are Activision’s targets, not independent benchmark results. See Activision’s current PC system requirements for the full specification and any updates.
How to check whether your PC meets the requirements
Compare each component against the tier that matches your goal. Meeting the GPU line alone is not enough: the operating system, processor, RAM, video memory, free SSD capacity, DirectX 12 support, AVX and security settings also matter.

- Ready for Upgrades – Designed with tool-less access, easily swap out components, ensuring future-proof performance for years to come.
- Check Windows and hardware: In Windows, open Settings > System > About to see your Windows edition, processor and installed RAM. Use your PC or graphics-card maker’s documentation to confirm the exact GPU model and video memory.
- Choose a target tier: Use Minimum as the baseline, Recommended for Activision’s 60-FPS/high-settings target, or Competitive / Ultra 4K for the stated high-refresh or 4K targets. The listed GPUs are reference points; the specifications do not establish performance for every unlisted card.
- Confirm free SSD space: Open Settings > System > Storage and check the drive where you plan to install the game. Activision lists 116 GB available and warns mandatory updates can need additional storage.
- Check firmware security settings: Verify TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are enabled in your PC’s firmware settings. Menu names and access steps vary by manufacturer; consult the PC or motherboard documentation before changing firmware options.
- Check special compatibility requirements: Intel Arc graphics cards require Resizable BAR. Activision currently supports only Intel and AMD processors with AVX.
Important compatibility requirements and laptop caveat
- TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot: Both are required to play. The publisher’s November 2025 announcement states, “TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are required to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.” Activision Support also says other security measures may be enforced.
- Intel Arc: Resizable BAR is required for Intel Arc GPUs.
- Processor support: Only Intel and AMD CPUs with AVX are supported at this time.
- Laptops: The listed specifications refer to desktop PCs. Laptop graphics cards may be different models and may not be supported, even where a laptop GPU has a similar name to a desktop card. Activision advises checking your PC documentation if you are unsure of the hardware.
- Internet and DirectX: Broadband internet and DirectX 12 compatibility are required for all tiers.
How much storage Black Ops 7 needs
Activision’s current support page lists 116 GB of available SSD space. Its November 2025 launch announcement listed 115 GB at launch, so the current support figure is the better one to use for present-day planning. The official pages do not explain the difference. Activision also warns that mandatory updates may require more space, so 116 GB should not be treated as a guarantee that no additional free capacity will ever be needed. The requirement specifies an SSD and available space; it does not require a 1 TB drive, NVMe storage or a particular SSD model.
