The clips are experiments, not an official crossover or a publicly released mod.
How the crossover project works
According to Dexerto’s October 2, 2026 report, fan creator P.E. Cooper used World at War source code to port the original Zombies map to a browser. Cooper reportedly said on September 6 that AI systems helped pull the game’s source code. The result shown in clips is a reworked version of Nacht der Untoten, with familiar Zombies gameplay mixed with elements from other games.
The report describes the experiments as available only to Cooper at the time of publication. They are not presented as an easily accessible mod that players can download and try.
The standout crossover experiments
Portal Gun portals
One experiment placed a Portal Gun from Portal 2 in the Mystery Box. Dexerto says it fired working portals that let the player move around Nacht der Untoten, bringing a spatial puzzle-game mechanic into the confined Zombies map.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Fortnite-style building
Another clip showed the player building wooden walls to hold back Zombies. It borrows the instantly recognizable defensive-building idea from Fortnite and applies it to a mode built around surviving escalating waves of enemies.
Wii Sports-inspired fighting
A Wii Sports Mii appeared in combat using boxing gloves, bowling balls and a baseball bat. The contrast between the bright, familiar sports-game character and the undead setting is the core joke of the crossover.

More characters, weapons and cameos

Is the Zombies crossover available to play?
Not as a public download, according to Dexerto’s report: the build was available only to Cooper at publication time. The clips therefore document a creator’s experiments, not a released crossover game, an official collaboration, or a mod readers can assume they can install. Availability could change, but the report does not establish a public release.

What Cooper said about the idea
Dexerto attributes to Cooper a recollection that, when younger, they pitched an idea to game studios and were laughed out of the room. Cooper recalled being told it was “the dumbest fucking thing they’ve ever heard!” and joked, “Thanks to AI I can finally prove them wrong.” That anecdote is Cooper’s account as quoted by Dexerto, not independently verified history.
