Callis, the Ripper Queen, is fought in Her Flaming Vision at Moon-Called Throne in Carcadia Burn. To beat her, watch for attacks that return across the floor, move laterally around her melee strikes, and clear summoned enemies when she becomes immune. Her reported legendary drops include Queen’s Rest, but available lists do not agree on the full pool, and none establishes a guaranteed drop.
Callis, the Ripper Queen: location and mission
Progress the Carcadia Burn story until Her Flaming Vision, the mission featuring Callis. The encounter takes place at Moon-Called Throne. Epic describes Callis as the last of the Timekeeper’s lieutenants; Mobalytics also identifies Moon-Called Throne as her location. Epic Games Store’s campaign boss guide and Mobalytics’ Callis guide provide the encounter details.
Do not confuse her with Moon-Maddened Callis
Moon-Maddened Callis is a separate, later encounter during Another Day, Another Universe on Elpis. That fight takes place on a floating rock platform: grapple back promptly if knocked off, and stay low during the broad overhead net phase. Those arena-specific instructions are for Moon-Maddened Callis, not the Ripper Queen fight in Carcadia Burn. Epic’s boss guide covers both encounters.
How to beat Callis the Ripper Queen
Callis is mobile and erratic, so prioritize reading attack cues over standing still to trade damage. Her encounter has two phases, with armor before flesh. Corrosive and Radiation are useful against the armor segment; Incendiary is effective against the flesh segment, according to Mobalytics’ guide. The precise effectiveness of any element can depend on current game balance, so treat this as a practical starting point rather than a guaranteed damage formula.

Recognize the attacks
- Returning fire orbs: These travel along the ground and then come back. Keep watching the floor after the first pass; moving past the initial wave does not mean the attack is over.
- Rocket markers: Ground circles indicate incoming rockets. Keep moving out of the marked area rather than continuing to attack from it.
- Drone mines: Callis can deploy explosive mines. Avoid lingering near them while tracking her next move.
- Bomb-carrying Rippers: Summoned Rippers can carry bombs. Keep them in view and avoid letting them close unchecked.
- Melee strikes: Sidestep or dash laterally to evade; moving sideways is often more useful than retreating directly from her.
- Laser nets: After Callis loses her first health segment, watch for the net attack and avoid the danger area as it forms.
Use the immunity transition to clear the adds
When Callis climbs to the wall and becomes immune, attacking her will not advance the fight. Turn to the summoned enemies and defeat them; clearing the adds ends the transition and lets you resume attacking Callis. Use this window to reposition and avoid being surrounded before she returns to the fight.
Keep moving and match damage to the health segment
Maintain some distance, watch the floor for markers, and favor lateral movement when she closes in. Use Corrosive or Radiation while her armor segment is active, then switch to Incendiary for the flesh segment if your loadout allows it. The fight’s main rhythm is to evade the next hazard, deal damage when there is an opening, and clear adds during the immune phase.

Published drop lists disagree, so treat the following as reported items rather than a confirmed, exhaustive dedicated pool. Mobalytics lists six items for Callis; Borderlands4.wiki highlights two. Queen’s Rest is the item both lists share. Neither source establishes a drop rate or guarantees that a particular item will appear.

The Mobalytics list does not include Juliet’s Sparkle, while Borderlands4.wiki highlights it alongside Queen’s Rest. Queen’s Rest effect
Mobalytics states that Queen’s Rest has a 30% chance, when damaging enemies, to spawn a homing sticky projectile. That percentage describes the pistol’s stated effect chance, not the chance of getting Queen’s Rest from Callis. Mobalytics, updated October 9, 2025.
Choosing which reported drop matters to your build
- Weapon: Queen’s Rest is a pistol; Juliet’s Sparkle is listed as an SMG by Borderlands4.wiki. The available drop reporting does not support ranking one above the other.
- Defense: Pandoran Memento is an energy shield in the Mobalytics list.
- Class-specific gear: Esgrimidor is associated with Rafa, Viking with Amon, Illusionist with Vex, and Skeptic with Harlowe. Consider the relevant Vault Hunter before farming a class mod.
