Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread

One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchIf your prerecorded video is visible in a CameraFi Live YouTube stream but silent, check the video and audio sources separately: make sure the clip is active under Video, then open Audio and confirm the intended sound source is enabled and audible. CameraFi’s Android guide treats video files and recording files as separate source types, so seeing the picture alone does not confirm that the soundtrack is reaching the stream. CameraFi’s Android guide describes the source menus.
Check which route is supplying the sound
First identify how the clip is being played. An imported or selected video source and playback inside another app captured from the screen are different audio routes. The right fix depends on which one you use.
- Clip selected as a CameraFi video source: check the separate Audio menu and, if needed, add an authorized audio file as its own source.
- Clip playing in another app: CameraFi must be able to capture that app’s internal audio, and Android and the app must permit it.
Fix audio for a video source in CameraFi Live
- Open CameraFi Live’s Video sources and verify that the intended video file is present, selected, and playing.
- Open the separate Audio menu. Select or enable the intended audio source and raise its level if it is turned down.
- If the video’s soundtrack still does not reach the stream, add a separate audio file containing the soundtrack, if you have a usable copy you are authorized to stream. CameraFi documents audio files such as MP3 as addable sources and describes mixing an audio file with microphone input; behavior can vary by file and app version. See CameraFi’s source guidance.
- Before relying on the setup live, test it in a private or unlisted YouTube stream and check the resulting playback.
If the clip is playing in another Android app
CameraFi’s internal-audio capture guidance says the feature requires Android 10 or later and works only with apps that allow third-party audio recording. If the playback app blocks capture, CameraFi cannot obtain its sound through this screen-capture route. The guidance dates to 2020, so menu labels and behavior may differ in current Android and CameraFi versions. Read CameraFi’s internal-audio guidance.
Also check whether another app or feature is taking control of audio. CameraFi’s FAQ gives an example involving in-game voice chat leaving CameraFi without sound. That example is specific to games, but it is a reason to check competing audio paths when playback comes from another app; it does not establish that all imported video clips have this issue. See CameraFi’s FAQ.

If you are broadcasting an iPhone screen
For an iOS screen broadcast, check CameraFi’s in-app audio controls. CameraFi’s May 2026 guide says the microphone can be enabled through iOS Control Center after broadcasting starts. This guidance concerns screen broadcasts; it does not establish how every imported video file routes audio on iOS. Read CameraFi’s iOS guide.
Use Audio Sync only when sound is present but mistimed
If you can hear the audio but it arrives before or after the picture, CameraFi’s Audio Sync adjustment may help for supported destinations, including YouTube. It changes timing; it cannot restore a missing or inactive source. CameraFi also warns that using sync on YouTube may affect the saved recording. Check CameraFi’s Audio Sync guidance.

Common symptoms and next checks
| What you observe | What to check |
|---|---|
| The clip is visible, but the stream is silent. | Confirm the clip is active in Video and a sound source is enabled in Audio. If needed, try a separate authorized audio file. |
| Sound works when played locally, but not when captured from another app. | Check Android version and whether the playback app permits internal-audio capture. Local playback does not prove screen capture is allowed. |
| Audio is audible but out of sync. | Try Audio Sync for a supported YouTube stream, bearing in mind CameraFi’s warning about the saved broadcast. |
| The sound source is unclear or another app is using audio. | Check for competing audio capture or playback paths, then test again before going live. |
Keep rights-cleared audio in the stream
Use only video and audio that you own or are authorized to stream. CameraFi’s FAQ warns that using someone else’s content can cause copyright trouble. A separate soundtrack file should be rights-cleared too; separating it from the video does not change those rights.
