Yes. A male Pokémon can breed with Ditto if it is eligible to produce Eggs in the game you’re playing. The Pokémon does not need to be female; Ditto can pair with male or female Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, and the general Ditto pairing rule in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield excludes Pokémon in the No Eggs Discovered Egg Group.
Why gender does not prevent the pairing
Ditto is an exception to the usual gender requirement for breeding. The official Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Trainers Guide says Ditto can be paired with male or female Pokémon, and that it is the only Pokémon known to be compatible with Pokémon of unknown gender. Check the Pokémon’s eligibility in your game
In Sword and Shield, The Pokémon Company says an Egg can appear when Ditto is left with a Pokémon from any Egg Group except No Eggs Discovered. So a male Pokémon’s gender is not the deciding factor; its eligibility to produce Eggs is. The Pokémon Company’s Sword and Shield breeding guide
Breeding details can vary by game. The cited official material establishes the male-and-female pairing rule for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and the Egg Group exclusion for Sword and Shield. The available official material does not establish every condition for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, so check the specific game’s rules rather than assuming those details carry over unchanged.

What hatches from an Egg with Ditto
In Sword and Shield, the Egg hatches into the earliest Pokémon in the evolutionary line of the non-Ditto parent. In other words, the offspring follows the species line of the Pokémon paired with Ditto, not Ditto’s species.
