No. A mouse button can turn your view by 180 degrees in a game that exposes a suitable command or supports a compatible mouse feature, but there is no documented universal button that works in every title. Razer’s Perfect 180 feature is advertised for the Basilisk V4 Pro and Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed, yet Razer says its result depends on in-game sensitivity and Synapse settings.
A one-button 180-degree turn sounds like a simple input, but games do not share one universal camera-control standard. Each title decides which mouse and keyboard inputs it accepts, how sensitivity translates movement into view rotation, and whether external mouse software is allowed. The practical answer is therefore conditional: a button can perform the turn in some games and setups, not in every game by guarantee.

What a “180-degree button” actually has to do
A 180-degree turn is a command that rotates the in-game camera or character view by a defined half-circle. For a button to produce that result, one of three things must be true:
- The game itself provides a turn-around action or a control that can be bound to a button.
- Mouse software can send an input sequence that the game interprets as the required camera movement.
- The mouse includes a dedicated feature that calculates and applies the turn using the game’s sensitivity and the software’s configuration.
Those conditions are title- and configuration-dependent. A Windows mouse setting cannot create a camera command that the game does not recognize. Microsoft documents options to swap the primary button and change pointer speed, but it does not describe either setting as a universal in-game 180-degree control (Microsoft’s mouse-settings guide).

The four ways players try to bind a 180
| Method | Where the action is defined | What determines compatibility |
|---|---|---|
| Game-native binding | The game’s own controls menu | Whether that title exposes a turn-around action or accepts the chosen input |
| Ordinary mouse remap | Mouse software assigns a key or existing command to a button | How the game interprets that key or command; a remap alone is not a 180-degree instruction |
| Dedicated device feature | Mouse firmware and its configuration software | Supported mouse model, active software profile, in-game sensitivity and other settings |
| Windows mouse settings | Operating-system pointer and button preferences | Desktop behavior only; these settings are not documented as a universal camera-turn bind |
Game-native controls
A title may include a specific “turn around” action, or it may allow a configurable control that can be assigned to a mouse button. The game’s documentation is the authority. For example, Electronic Arts’ Apex Legends PC accessibility guide documents mouse sensitivity and configurable keyboard-and-mouse controls. That establishes that the game offers relevant input settings; it does not establish that every version of the game includes a one-button 180 action.
Ordinary remapping
Most mouse utilities can make a side button act like a keyboard key or another mouse input. This is useful when a game already has the desired command, but it does not create a new camera instruction. If the game treats the assigned key as jump, melee or nothing at all, the button will do that instead of turning around.
Dedicated hardware and software
A dedicated feature can handle the angle calculation rather than relying on a game-native “turn 180” command. The documented example is Razer’s Perfect 180, listed for two Basilisk models. It is a specific product function, not proof that all games accept the same input or that every competitive ruleset permits it.

Which mice document a Perfect 180 feature?
| Model | Documented feature | Configuration and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Razer Basilisk V4 Pro | Perfect 180, described as an instant 180-degree turn for low-sensitivity players | Configured through Razer Synapse; Razer says the result depends on in-game sensitivity and Synapse settings. Details are on the official Basilisk V4 Pro page. |
| Razer Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed | Perfect 180, with the function mapped in Synapse | Razer repeats that the result depends on in-game sensitivity and Synapse settings. See the official Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed page. |
In an October 8, 2026 announcement, Razer described Perfect 180 as enabling instant turns “on any map” when enabled through Synapse (Razer’s Basilisk V4 announcement). That is a manufacturer description of the feature’s intended use. It should not be read as a promise that the function works in every game, survives every game update, or is legal in every tournament.
How to set up a 180-degree button
The exact labels differ by game and software version, so use the following sequence as a compatibility check rather than assuming that one profile will work everywhere.
- Identify the game’s input rules. Open the title’s Settings, Controls or Keyboard/Mouse section. Look for a turn-around action, a camera command, or a way to bind the relevant input. If the title offers no such control, an ordinary remap cannot invent one.
- Check whether the mouse feature is supported. A dedicated function requires a compatible mouse model and its configuration software. Perfect 180 is documented on the Basilisk V4 Pro and Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed; the cited pages do not extend the feature to other models.
- Open the mouse utility and select the active device profile. In Synapse, select the mouse and map the Perfect 180 function to the physical button you want to use. A profile that is not active for the game will not change that game’s behavior.
- Match the game sensitivity before judging the result. Razer specifically warns that Perfect 180 depends on in-game sensitivity and Synapse settings. Keep the game’s sensitivity and the feature’s configuration fixed while testing; changing either can alter the angle.
- Test in a safe game context. Use a training area, practice range, private match or another non-competitive environment where the title provides one. Check whether the view stops at roughly half a turn, whether the button triggers only once per press, and whether ordinary camera movement still behaves normally.
- Save a title-specific profile. If the software supports per-game profiles, associate the tested settings with that executable. Different games commonly use different sensitivity values and control layouts, so one global profile should not be assumed to produce the same angle everywhere.
- Review the game’s current rules before online competition. The available documentation does not establish permission for any particular competitive game or tournament. Consult that title’s current policy and the event’s rules before using a dedicated turn feature.
Why the same button can behave differently from game to game
Sensitivity changes the amount of view rotation
Razer’s own qualification is the key limitation: Perfect 180 depends on in-game sensitivity and Synapse settings. A setting calibrated in one title is not evidence that the same button will rotate exactly 180 degrees in another. Even when both games accept mouse input, they can expose different sensitivity scales or control behavior.

Controls are title-specific
Games decide which inputs are bindable and whether an action can be assigned to a mouse button. The Apex Legends PC guide is an example of title-specific documentation rather than a standard shared by all games. The presence of configurable mouse controls in one game says nothing about an unrelated title.

A mouse can have several profiles, and the game may launch while a desktop profile remains selected. In that case, the physical button may still produce its default click or another assignment. Confirm the active profile before changing sensitivity or concluding that the feature is unsupported.
Updates and enforcement can change the answer
A game update can alter input handling, while an anti-cheat or tournament policy can restrict external automation even if the hardware can technically perform it. The available sources do not establish a universal approval or ban. Treat compatibility and permission as separate questions.

Troubleshooting a failed or inaccurate turn
| Symptom | Likely check | Corrective action |
|---|---|---|
| Nothing happens | The button is not mapped, the wrong profile is active, or the game does not accept the assigned input | Confirm the physical button assignment, activate the game profile, then inspect the title’s controls menu |
| The view turns too far or not far enough | In-game sensitivity or Synapse settings differ from the values used during calibration | Restore the tested settings and recalibrate in a non-competitive area |
| The button performs another action | An ordinary remap is sending a key that already has a different binding | Check the game’s keybind list and assign an unused or intended command |
| It works on the desktop but not in the game | Windows pointer settings affect desktop behavior, not a documented universal camera command | Configure the action in the game or supported mouse software instead of relying on Windows pointer options |
| It worked previously but stopped after an update | The game, mouse utility or profile association may have changed | Recheck the current controls, software profile and the developer’s or event’s current rules |
Is either Basilisk model guaranteed to work in more games?
No compatibility ranking is established by the cited product pages. Both the Basilisk V4 Pro and Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed document Perfect 180, and both carry the same sensitivity-and-Synapse qualification. The available material does not prove that one model supports more games or produces a more accurate turn than the other.
If you are choosing between them, evaluate ordinary purchase factors—wired or wireless use, shape, button placement, fit, configuration support and budget—separately from the existence of Perfect 180. A feature listing is not a cross-game compatibility test.

To claim universal support, documentation would need to show that the function works across different input systems, sensitivity implementations, software profiles, game versions and competitive policies. The cited sources establish none of those universal conditions. They establish a real feature on two named mice, a documented dependency on settings, and examples of title-specific controls.

- OPTICAL MOUSE SWITCHES GEN 2 — With zero unintended misclicks these switches provide crisp, responsive execution at a blistering 0.2ms actuation speed for up to 70 million clicks
That distinction matters for expectations. “Can this mouse perform a 180 in a supported setup?” is a hardware-and-configuration question. “Will one button perform an allowed, accurate 180 in every game?” is a compatibility and rules question, and the answer is no documented guarantee.
Practical decision guide
- You only need a game’s existing command: use the title’s own keybind menu, then remap that key or action to a mouse button if the game permits it.
- You play a low-sensitivity setup and want a dedicated action: a documented Perfect 180-capable Basilisk model is an option, but calibrate it for each title and keep the sensitivity qualification in mind.
- You are troubleshooting desktop behavior: Windows’ primary-button and pointer-speed settings may help with ordinary mouse use, but they are not a universal in-game turn control.
- You play ranked or tournament matches: verify the current game and event rules before enabling external mouse functions; technical operation does not establish permission.
Bottom line
A mouse button can perform a 180-degree turn in a particular game when the game, remap or dedicated mouse feature supports it and the settings are calibrated. It cannot be promised as a universal action for every game. Perfect 180 is documented on the Razer Basilisk V4 Pro and Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed, but Razer’s own documentation makes the result dependent on in-game sensitivity and Synapse settings. Check the individual title’s controls and rules before relying on the button.
