The name is ambiguous. DataStax Astra Streaming is a managed data-streaming and event-processing service, not the mobile video encoder discussed here; another product called AstraStream also exists. If you mean a different app or service, its capabilities may differ.

RTMP/RTMPS support makes an encoder workflow to YouTube plausible, provided the installed app lets you enter a YouTube-compatible destination and stream key. The listing does not establish native YouTube integration, unattended 24/7 operation, behavior when the phone sleeps or the app is backgrounded, or automatic reconnection after a disconnect. So, do not treat a successful short test as proof that a phone can reliably operate the channel around the clock. Check the installed app’s actual destination settings and test the phone’s behavior under the conditions it will encounter. No specific phone model or Astra/JioFiber configuration is established here.
Check YouTube eligibility and prepare a representative test
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. Live content must also comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service; account and age restrictions can apply. Review YouTube’s current live-streaming setup guidance and live-streaming restrictions and requirements before configuring the broadcast.

- Confirm the app and destination. Verify that you have Astra Streaming Studio by MIV Dev and that the installed version exposes a YouTube-compatible RTMP or RTMPS destination. Use the stream-key workflow YouTube provides for your broadcast; keep the key private.
- Check channel eligibility. Enable YouTube Live if needed and confirm there is no current live-streaming restriction.
- Measure upload where the phone will run. Test sustained outbound upload at the actual streaming location and at the times you expect to broadcast. Leave capacity for fluctuations and other devices using the connection. An advertised broadband tier, especially a download figure, does not establish stable continuous upload.
- Run an end-to-end test. Start with a private or unlisted broadcast at the intended resolution and bitrate. Use representative motion and audio, then check YouTube’s stream-health messages and confirm the picture and sound are acceptable.
- Test interruption and phone behavior. During a controlled test, check what happens when network service drops and returns, the screen turns off, the app is backgrounded, or power changes. Confirm whether the app resumes and whether you must restart the broadcast; automatic recovery is not documented by the app listing.
- Monitor the live session. YouTube recommends testing before going live and monitoring stream health and messages. Use its encoder troubleshooting guidance if YouTube reports a problem.
YouTube recommends choosing encoder quality to fit connection reliability, not simply the highest available setting. A measured test and YouTube’s stream-health feedback are more useful than assuming a JioFiber speed tier guarantees an uninterrupted broadcast.
What JioFiber’s terms mean for a continuous channel
Jio’s cited postpaid-plan FAQ describes unlimited high-speed data for home use, while reserving the right for RJIL to discontinue data service for misuse, fraudulent, unauthorised, or commercial use. That language is specific to the cited postpaid FAQ; it should not be applied automatically to every JioFiber plan. The FAQ does not determine whether a particular monetized YouTube channel counts as commercial use. If the broadcast is monetized or business-related, ask Jio about the terms applicable to your exact plan before relying on residential service.

Phone-based streaming versus running the channel in the cloud
A phone-based setup depends on the phone, app, power, and home connection all continuing to work. If your goal is an always-on loop of uploaded video rather than a live camera feed, a cloud service is another approach: the stream runs remotely rather than relying on a phone at home. Compare recovery behavior, source-content controls, storage, quality limits, terms, and recurring costs before choosing. Do not assume a cloud service can broadcast a camera feed; the service described below plays uploaded videos.
