As of the official Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek announcement, Bramblin’s shiny has not been announced as available for its Pokémon GO debut. Bramblin appears in both event Incense encounter lists without the asterisk used for shiny-eligible species, and it is not named in the event’s shiny bonuses. That is a time-specific status, not proof that Bramblin can never receive a shiny release.
What the official announcement says about shiny Bramblin
Bramblin debuts in Pokémon GO during Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek. The event announcement lists Bramblin as an encounter but does not mark it as shiny-eligible for the debut. In both Incense windows, Bramblin appears without the asterisk that the announcement uses for species that may be shiny.

The same announcement explains the asterisk with the note, “If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!” It places that mark beside Galarian Ponyta, Hoppip, Electrike, and Dwebble in the first Incense period, and beside Hisuian Growlithe, Nincada, Electrike, and Helioptile in the second. Bramblin has no such mark in either list.

The careful conclusion is therefore: the official sources do not identify shiny Bramblin as available during this debut event. Pokémon GO availability can change in a later announcement, so this wording should not be turned into “Bramblin can never be shiny.”

The event runs from Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. through Monday, October 19, 2026, at 8:00 p.m., using local time. The announcement gives three encounter routes for Bramblin: GO Pass tasks, Incense, and event Field Research.

Because the dates are local-time dates, the start and end of a window can occur at different UTC times for different players. Check the in-game event timing for your location rather than converting another player’s clock time directly.
What “not announced as shiny-available” means
It describes this event’s published status
The evidence is the event’s own encounter formatting. Species marked with an asterisk are identified as potentially shiny, while Bramblin is unmarked in both windows. The announcement also names the species receiving increased shiny chances, and Bramblin is absent from that bonus list.
It does not establish a permanent restriction
Pokémon GO introduces shiny variants at different times, and an event announcement can describe only the availability it is announcing. A later official post could introduce shiny Bramblin or attach it to another event. Until such a post appears, treat the debut announcement as the current source for the debut period.

It is different from seeing no shiny after several encounters
A run of ordinary Bramblin encounters cannot by itself prove whether a shiny is enabled. The stronger evidence here is the official event listing, which does not mark Bramblin as shiny-eligible. Do not infer a numeric rate, a hidden boosted chance, or a guarantee from your personal encounter count.

Are there Bramblin-specific shiny odds?
No Bramblin-specific numeric shiny odds are provided in the cited official sources. The event announcement does not publish a percentage or encounter rate for Bramblin, and Niantic’s What are Shiny Pokémon? Help Center article describes shiny Pokémon as rare without giving a Bramblin rate.
That means a precise answer such as “one in a particular number of encounters” would not be supported here. The same limitation applies to claims that Bramblin has a community-standard rate, a boosted event rate, or a different rate in GO Pass tasks versus Incense. None of those figures is established by the cited announcement or Help Center guidance.

The useful practical distinction is between availability and odds. Availability asks whether the game can generate a shiny of that species in the stated period. Odds describe how often that generation occurs once it is available. The debut announcement does not identify Bramblin as available, and it supplies no Bramblin-specific odds.
How to check whether an encounter is shiny
When a Pokémon is shiny-eligible, the official Help Center says the encounter screen displays a shiny icon above the Pokémon’s CP. That icon is the in-game confirmation to look for.
- Open the encounter from the route that produced it, such as an Incense spawn, a GO Pass reward, or an event Field Research reward.
- Look at the encounter screen above the Pokémon’s CP.
- Use the shiny icon described by Niantic as the visual indicator of a shiny encounter.
- If the icon is present, the encounter is identified in-game as shiny.
- If the icon is absent, do not use that single screen to claim a Bramblin-specific rate or a future availability rule; the official event listing is the relevant status evidence for this debut.
The icon check is especially useful when a species has subtle visual differences or when the encounter’s lighting makes color changes difficult to notice. It is a confirmation of the individual encounter, not a statement that every encounter of the species is shiny-eligible.

Does Bramblin have different forms with different shiny rules?
The cited announcement refers to Bramblin without describing regional forms, alternate forms, or form-specific shiny availability. The Help Center discusses regional forms and shiny variants in general and states that a shiny regional form also shows the shiny icon above its CP, but it does not provide Bramblin-specific form information.
For this reason, there is no supported Bramblin form table to compare for the debut. Do not assume that Bramblin has a regional version in Pokémon GO, that a different form has a separate shiny status, or that an unlisted form is available through one of the event encounter routes. Those details would require a later official Pokémon GO announcement or an updated official in-game listing.
The general rule supplied by the Help Center is still useful: when a form is shiny-eligible, the shiny icon is the visual check above CP. The source does not extend that rule into a Bramblin-specific claim about which forms exist or when their shiny variants release.

Use the event’s GO Pass tasks
The official announcement lists Bramblin among the Pokémon that may be encountered by completing GO Pass tasks. Follow the event’s task interface, complete the listed requirements, and claim the encounter when it becomes available. The announcement does not publish a separate shiny rate for these rewards, so treat the reward as an encounter opportunity rather than a stated shiny chance.
Use Incense during the listed windows
Bramblin is listed for Incense from October 13 at 10:00 a.m. to October 16 at 10:00 a.m., and again from October 16 at 10:00 a.m. to October 19 at 8:00 p.m., local time. The second window begins immediately when the first ends, but the surrounding encounter list changes. Read the active window’s list in the event announcement or in-game event panel before deciding when to use Incense.
Incense encounters are a way to check the species while the event is active; they do not change the official shiny status shown in the announcement. Bramblin’s lack of an asterisk applies to its listing in both windows.

Complete event Field Research
The event announcement also lists Bramblin among event Field Research encounters. Check the task’s reward preview before completing it so you know whether it leads to the listed encounter. The cited sources do not state a separate Field Research shiny rate or identify Field Research as a shiny bonus for Bramblin.

The overall event ends Monday, October 19, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time. A task, Incense window, or reward available before that cutoff should not be assumed to remain available afterward unless a later official notice says so. Screenshots or posts from another time zone may show a different local clock while referring to the same global event schedule.
How the event’s asterisks should be read
The asterisk is an editorial signal in the official event announcement. Its accompanying note says that, if players are lucky, they may encounter a shiny one. The signal is used consistently in the two Incense lists:

When evaluating a future announcement, check four details together:
- Whether Bramblin is listed as an encounter at all.
- Whether its name carries the announcement’s shiny marker or an equivalent explicit statement.
- Whether the event gives Bramblin a named shiny bonus.
- The dates, local-time windows, and encounter routes attached to that status.
A social post, screenshot, or player report can indicate that someone saw a particular encounter, but it does not replace the official availability statement for a release. Use the in-game shiny icon to verify an individual encounter and the official announcement to establish the event-wide rule.
