No. Pokémon HOME can connect to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but that does not make Genesect eligible to enter either game. Pokémon can only be moved into games where they appear, and the official Scarlet and Violet guidance limits transfers to Pokémon obtainable in each game.
Can you transfer Genesect to Scarlet and Violet?
No. Nintendo’s rule is that “Pokémon can only be moved to games that they appear in.” The Pokémon Company’s Scarlet and Violet connection announcement states the same limitation. Connecting HOME to a game does not override species eligibility.
Nintendo lists Scarlet and Violet as compatible with Pokémon HOME, but compatibility means the games can connect to the service—not that every Pokémon stored there can be transferred into them. The official connection announcement also says that each Pokémon must appear in the destination game.
Why Pokémon HOME compatibility is not enough
Scarlet and Violet can receive Pokémon through HOME, subject to the games’ species restrictions. The official Scarlet and Violet HOME information says each game can receive only Pokémon obtainable in that game. Therefore, having Genesect in HOME—or owning either game—does not make it transferable if it is not eligible for that destination.

How to check the current Genesect transfer list
For the current species-by-species answer, check Pokémon HOME’s mobile app. The official Pokémon HOME transfer guidance directs players to the mobile app’s Help section for the detailed list of Pokémon that can be transferred to each game. Scarlet and Violet are linked through the Nintendo Switch version of HOME; use the mobile Help list to confirm species eligibility.
- Open Pokémon HOME on a mobile device.
- Open the app’s Help section and find the game-specific Pokémon transfer list.
- Check Genesect against the Scarlet and Violet entries before attempting a transfer.
That list is the appropriate place to verify a current, species-specific entry. The official pages cited here establish the transfer rule and point to the list; they do not provide a Genesect-specific entry.
