Yes—usually, you can change which EA Account is linked to your PlayStation Network account by unlinking the current connection and linking the intended EA Account. Whether you can do it depends on the accounts’ eligibility, and unlinking does not move progress or purchases to the new account. Check the existing link and understand the consequences before proceeding.
Check which EA Account is linked before changing it
- Sign in to the EA Account portal.
- Open Connected Accounts and find the PlayStation Network connection. Confirm which EA Account it belongs to, and make sure you can sign in to that account.
If you recognize the old account but cannot access it, try recovering it before unlinking. EA’s linking instructions describe starting the game on your console, choosing Recover my account, and following the prompts with your previous login details.
How to switch the linked EA Account
- In the old EA Account’s Connected Accounts, choose Unlink beside the PlayStation connection.
- Read EA’s warning, complete any identity verification, and follow the on-screen prompts. If the option is unavailable or the unlink is rejected, do not keep retrying; see the troubleshooting guidance below.
- Sign in to the EA Account you want to use and link your PlayStation account. You can do this in Connected Accounts or by opening an EA game on the console and signing in with the intended account. EA may send a one-time code to that account’s email.

Check eligibility before unlinking
EA’s current help guidance says linked accounts can be switched up to 3 times in a rolling year. EA also says a platform account linked less than one year ago may not yet be eligible to unlink and relink to a different account. Eligibility can depend on account history, so the one-year mark does not guarantee a switch will be approved.

An EA Account that is disabled, banned, or suspended cannot be unlinked under EA’s stated rules. If the unlink control is grayed out or the change is rejected, consult EA’s linking troubleshooting guide and unlinking troubleshooting guide, then contact EA Help for account-specific support.
What happens to progress, purchases, and rewards?
Unlinking does not transfer game progress to another EA Account. It can also remove access to DLC, expansions, memberships, subscriptions, previous drops, rewards, and in-game purchases associated with the old link. EA says it cannot move progress between EA Accounts.

If progress disappears after a change, EA’s guidance is to relink the PlayStation account to the EA Account that held that progress. See EA’s steps for finding lost progress before assuming the data has been transferred or permanently deleted.
- Apex Legends: EA warns that unlinking can cause issues with Battle Pass leveling, item unlocks, and other errors.
- EA SPORTS FC: The Web and Companion Apps may be affected if the unlinked platform account was set as active.
If you want to connect a different PlayStation account
EA says one EA Account cannot be linked to two PlayStation Network IDs. If you are trying to add a second PSN ID rather than replace the current connection, check the Connected Accounts setup first; you may need a separate EA Account.
