The official PC product is Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC. It includes both games for Windows. Check the live listing for current device and account requirements; its price can change.

If you already own one edition
Minecraft says eligible owners of either edition on Windows 10 or 11 can get the other. Sign in to the Microsoft account associated with the purchase, then check the Minecraft Launcher or your game library. Purchases should appear under the account used to buy the game, so verify access before paying again. See Minecraft’s edition comparison and the official PC listing.
What having both does—and does not—mean
They remain separate editions. Having both lets you choose which one to launch; it does not combine their features, multiplayer networks, or worlds. Minecraft’s PC store listing says Java worlds and saves are not compatible with Bedrock, so do not expect a world to transfer automatically.

Which edition should you launch?
Choose based on your device, the people you want to play with, and how you prefer to play. Minecraft’s guidance is clear: “Java and Bedrock players can’t play together,” so ask friends which version they use before joining them.
- Java: Available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It is the fit for Java community mods and Java servers.
- Bedrock: Available on Windows and supported consoles and mobile devices. It supports cross-play among supported Bedrock platforms, plus controller and touch controls and Marketplace content.
The PC bundle is for Windows; it does not make Bedrock available on Mac or Linux. Minecraft’s platform overview lists Java for Windows, Mac, and Linux, while Bedrock is offered on Windows and supported consoles and mobile devices: Minecraft platform overview.

What if you want to play online across editions?
Owning both does not let a Java player join a Bedrock multiplayer session, or vice versa. A separate online service does not erase that distinction: Minecraft describes Java and Bedrock Realms separately, with different platform support. Check the Realms page for current edition and platform details if you are considering that service.
