No—not through the original official service. Titanfall: Assault’s servers shut down on July 30, 2018, ending access to its multiplayer battles. A community post in July 2025 reported recovery of an old Android build, but said that work was only beginning and a return was not confirmed. That report is not proof that the game can currently be played.
What happened to Titanfall: Assault?
Titanfall: Assault was a competitive multiplayer real-time strategy game for iOS and Android, developed by Particle City and published by NEXON and Respawn Entertainment. It launched globally on August 10, 2017, with players commanding Pilots, Titans, and support units in multiplayer battles. Titanfall Wiki’s account of the shutdown reproduces the service announcement, which said the mobile RTS experiment “did not translate as we had hoped.”
The closure was announced on June 29, 2018. The notice said in-app purchases would be turned off before service ended; the servers shut down on July 30, 2018. Since the game depended on its multiplayer service, having an old app file alone does not establish that its battles are accessible.
Does the community Android recovery mean the game is back?
No. A community post dated July 2025 reported that an old Android build had been recovered and that contributors were trying to obtain an iOS version. The post cautioned: “This means work can START, NOT that we are close to finished nor that TFA come back is 100% confirmed.” It also said the effort was “at the mercy of the TFA developers.” This is a community update, not an official EA relaunch announcement. #1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Windows and Android.
- 1000Hz Polling Rate (for 2.4G and wired connection)
- Hall Effect joysticks and Hall triggers. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings.
- Extra R4/L4 bumpers. Custom button mapping without using software. Turbo function.
- Refined bumpers and D-pad. Light but tactile.
The available information does not establish a working community build, a supported private server, or a relaunch. Claims that installing an APK or preserved app file restores gameplay should be treated as unverified unless a reliable, newer source demonstrates that it connects to a functioning service.
Can I play it on iPhone, Android, or Mac now?
The game was originally released for iOS and Android, but that historical platform support does not mean it is playable now: the official servers are offline. A recovered Android build, if available to download, is not by itself evidence of working multiplayer. The 2025 community post said it was trying to obtain an iOS version; it did not confirm an iOS release. The informal question of whether it can be played on Mac likewise has no verified solution in the available information.

Where to check for a genuine return
For a restoration claim to show that Titanfall: Assault is playable, look for evidence that a specific version runs on a stated platform and connects to a working game service. An installer file, screenshots, or a recovered build alone cannot establish that. EA’s Titanfall franchise page presents Titanfall and Titanfall 2; its omission of Assault is not, by itself, proof that restoration is technically impossible.

There is no verified purchase or device upgrade that restores access to Assault’s closed service. Other Titanfall titles are separate games, not substitutes that unlock Titanfall: Assault.
