Jio’s advertised maximum speed cannot guarantee continuous 4K playback at your address. Test the playlist on the device and connection you plan to use, especially during busy hours.
Watching a 4K live playlist is different from broadcasting one
If you are watching a YouTube Live playlist, your connection is downloading video. YouTube’s live encoder table is about creators uploading a broadcast to YouTube, not viewers downloading it. For creator-side 2160p60 ingestion, YouTube lists 35 Mbps recommended for AV1/H.265 and 50 Mbps for H.264; those figures are not minimum download speeds for watching 4K60. YouTube’s live encoder settings also recommend testing and monitoring a broadcast, but that guidance concerns the creator’s upload.
If you are also broadcasting your own gameplay or other video, upload capacity matters separately. Jio’s regional plan page describes listed plans as having symmetric upload and download speeds, but that advertised plan feature does not establish the sustained speed of a specific wireless AirFiber installation. Check Jio’s plan information for your region and your actual plan terms.
What Jio’s published figures can—and cannot—tell you
Jio advertises speed offerings of up to 1 Gbps on its regional plan page. “Up to” is a plan maximum, not a measurement or guarantee of continuous throughput at your home. The available official information does not establish address-specific AirFiber performance, peak-time speeds, latency, or packet loss.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Jio estimates Ultra HD video use at up to 7 GB per hour and notes that consumption varies by app or website. Treat this as a broad estimate, not a precise forecast for a particular YouTube Live playlist. Check your plan’s data or fair-use terms in MyJio; a single universal threshold or post-threshold speed is not established for every plan.
Test whether your setup can hold 2160p60
- Test from the viewing location. Run repeated download tests using the TV or playback device if possible, or a wired device at the same location. A test elsewhere in the home may not reflect the connection the player actually gets.
- Play the actual playlist. Select 2160p60 in YouTube when available, then watch for a meaningful interval. Verify that playback remains at that resolution using YouTube playback diagnostics if available; note any buffering or automatic quality changes.
- Repeat under ordinary and busy conditions. Test during the evening or another busy period and while household devices are doing their usual work. Downloads, cloud backups, video calls, and other streams all use capacity that would otherwise provide headroom.
- Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet if the player supports it. A Cat6 cable can help determine whether the local Wi-Fi segment is the problem. If Ethernet works reliably while Wi-Fi does not, investigate Wi-Fi placement or interference. Ethernet cannot fix radio coverage, AirFiber congestion, service limits, or an overloaded connection.
- Try a lower playback quality if needed. If 2160p60 buffers or YouTube repeatedly adapts below it, lower the quality and record whether playback becomes stable. Do not assume a plan upgrade will solve the issue without testing performance at your address.
A speed test is only a snapshot. The practical test is whether the real playlist holds 2160p60 without buffering through the conditions in which you intend to watch it.

What to check when playback buffers or drops below 4K
- It works on Ethernet but not Wi-Fi: the Wi-Fi link, placement, or interference may be limiting playback. Improve the local wireless connection or use Ethernet where practical.
- It struggles on both Ethernet and Wi-Fi: the cause could be AirFiber signal or congestion, the route to YouTube, other traffic, or variation in the live stream. These tests alone cannot identify which one.
- It works at quiet times but not at peak times: repeat tests during the problem period and account for household use. A quiet-period result does not establish busy-hour stability.
- YouTube will not hold 2160p60: check whether that quality is available for the playlist and test again after reducing competing traffic. Lower quality is the practical fallback if the connection cannot sustain the selected playback.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep a pre-recorded playlist live on your YouTube channel around the clock, StreamNeo is a cloud alternative rather than a way to improve AirFiber for watching someone else’s stream. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so no computer or home connection has to stay on. It streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and offers a first day free with no card. Monthly is $9.99 per month.
