Yes. PC and Xbox players can squad up in Rainbow Six Siege, but a squad with a PC player is matched in the PC matchmaking pool. Xbox players need crossplay enabled to join that pool; PC crossplay is on by default and cannot be disabled, according to Ubisoft Help.
How PC and Xbox crossplay works
Ubisoft added PC-to-console crossplay with Operation Collision Point. When a squad includes a PC player, the whole squad enters the PC matchmaking pool. Console players can join that pool, but PC players cannot join console matchmaking. Ubisoft’s Operation Collision Point page describes the PC-and-console crossplay change and its matchmaking rule.
How to turn on crossplay on Xbox
- In Siege, open Options.
- Choose General.
- Set Crossplay Matchmaking to On.
Ubisoft says console crossplay is off by default. Xbox players can also change crossplay settings from the console. See Ubisoft Help’s crossplay and cross-progression instructions for the current player-facing guidance.
What changes for Ranked and communication
If an Xbox player enters the PC pool and plays Ranked, that player uses a separate PC rank; the console rank remains a different track. Ubisoft’s Collision Point information explains the PC-pool rule and separate PC Ranked rank. Ubisoft Help also says text chat is unavailable on consoles.

Crossplay is not cross-progression
Crossplay lets players on different platforms play together. Cross-progression concerns saved progress across platforms: Ubisoft says players must use the same Ubisoft account linked to the platform to access their saved progress elsewhere. That advice reflects an earlier arrangement. Ubisoft’s November 2022 Y7S4 crossplay update said PC and streaming-platform players would remain separate from console players. Ubisoft later changed the rule with Operation Collision Point, bringing PC-to-console crossplay and placing mixed squads in the PC pool.
