Sometimes. Players on different platforms can join the same racing game party only if that game supports cross-play for their platform pair and the mode they want to play. Cross-play is game-specific, and having versions of a game on several systems does not guarantee they can play together.
What to check before inviting friends
- Confirm the platform pair. Look for an official statement naming both platforms. Support can differ by game edition or console generation.
- Check the mode. A game may allow cross-play in some modes but not others. Use the current official compatibility information for the mode you plan to play.
- Check the cross-play setting and invite method. Some games have a cross-play toggle; others use an in-game party, crew, or social menu to invite friends.
- Check online access requirements. Console multiplayer may require an active online subscription. Requirements vary by game and platform, so check the current rules for your system.
- Keep cross-play separate from cross-progression. Cross-play lets players on different platforms play together. Cross-progression concerns carrying eligible progress or content between platforms; one does not imply the other.

How to invite friends in The Crew Motorfest
- Open the menu and choose Crew Management.
- Invite your friend to join your crew.
- Once they accept, start an activity with the crew; the other crew members are invited to join it.
This is Ubisoft’s documented crew workflow, not a guarantee that every mode or platform pairing will always be available. For other games, follow that title’s current in-game social or party instructions.
Choosing a game for a mixed-platform group
Compare the exact platform pair, the modes that support cross-play, whether a setting must be enabled, and whether the game documents friend invitations or a shared party or crew. If carrying progress between platforms matters too, check cross-progression separately. For example, Ubisoft says Motorfest players should use the same Ubisoft account when playing on a different platform; some in-game content is shared across platforms. Ubisoft’s Motorfest guides describe online play for up to 32 players in certain contexts, including Live Competitions. Those figures are about that game’s online player counts, not a general guarantee about cross-platform party size or every mode.
