Restream lets you arrange prerecorded videos from its own library into a playlist and schedule that playlist to broadcast to YouTube. It does not document importing a playlist by pasting a YouTube playlist URL. Restream’s playlist limit is 40 videos and 24 hours total, and you can change the order only before the playlist goes live.
How to arrange and schedule a Restream playlist
- From the Restream home screen, choose Pre-recorded livestream, then Playlist.
- Select videos already in your Restream library, or upload video files. Continue to the playlist editor.
- Drag and drop the videos into the sequence you want. Restream’s guide says, “Drag and drop your videos in the order you prefer.” You can add other files or a countdown and customize available designs, captions, or QR codes.
- Preview the playlist, schedule it, and select YouTube as a destination. Restream documents scheduled prerecorded events as starting automatically at the scheduled time, but some destination platforms may require a manual start on that platform.
For YouTube, live streaming must be enabled on the channel. Restream’s YouTube event setup offers Studio, RTMP, Video File, and Playlist choices; see Create a YouTube Live Event with Restream and Stream to YouTube.
Can Restream import a YouTube playlist URL?
That is not established by Restream’s documented workflow. The instructions describe selecting videos in Restream’s library or uploading files, then arranging those files. They do not describe pasting a YouTube playlist URL to import its contents. If you want to use a YouTube playlist’s videos in Restream, the documented approach is to have the video files available in Restream and create the sequence there.
Playlist limits and editing rules
- Maximum length: 24 hours total.
- Maximum entries: 40 videos.
- Order changes: Add, remove, or reorder videos before the playlist goes live. Once it is running, Restream says only graphics and chat can be edited.
- Repeating content: Restream playlists do not currently support looping as a playlist. You can duplicate videos within the 40-entry limit to repeat selected items once or more in the same sequence.

Playlist versus looping one prerecorded video
Choose the playlist workflow when you need multiple files in a specific order. Choose the single-video workflow when one prerecorded video is sufficient and you want it to repeat: Restream documents looping for an eligible standalone prerecorded stream, but that is different from looping a playlist. The playlist feature requires a purchased Upload & Stream add-on tier, according to Restream’s feature documentation. Its Help Center article, published July 25, 2026, lists Marathon at $79/month, with a 4-hour video library and maximum resolution of 1080p, and Media at $239/month, with a 12-hour video library and maximum resolution of 4K. These are the figures shown in that dated article, not a guarantee of current pricing; check Restream’s current plan details before purchasing. The library duration and playlist limits are separate constraints: a playlist can be up to 24 hours, while the listed tier’s library capacity is 4 or 12 hours.
