Yes—Roblox can suspend or terminate alternate accounts linked to you, especially if you use an alt to avoid enforcement. However, simply having multiple Roblox accounts is not automatically the same as breaking the rules. Roblox officially supports eligible users switching between multiple accounts, while its Terms and Community Standards allow action against alternate accounts involved in, or used to bypass, a moderation action.
Can Roblox ban your alt accounts?
Roblox’s Terms of Use reserve the right to suspend or terminate alternate accounts that you create or have created when you violate Roblox’s Terms, including its Community Standards.

That does not mean Roblox automatically bans every alt whenever one account receives a warning or suspension. The policy uses discretionary language: Roblox may take action against other accounts it determines belong to the same user.

What is an alt account?
An “alt” is an informal term for an additional Roblox account controlled by the same person. The term itself does not mean the account is abusive or prohibited.
An additional account might be used for ordinary play, testing or development, privacy, or separating different activities. It is different from an account created specifically to bypass a suspension, termination, restriction, or other enforcement action.
Is having multiple Roblox accounts allowed?
Roblox provides an official Account Switcher for eligible users with multiple accounts. On the web, it can store up to five accounts. The feature is available to users aged 13 or older and is not available for accounts with parent privileges.
Accounts saved through the switcher are stored privately on that device and are not shown to other users. This supports the conclusion that maintaining multiple accounts is not automatically prohibited.

The perfect combination of performance, power consumption, and value helps your device handle multitasking smoothly and reliably with four processing cores to divide up the work.
But official account switching is not immunity from moderation. Every account still has to follow the Terms of Use and Community Standards, and Roblox may still treat multiple accounts as belonging to the same user when making an enforcement decision.
What counts as ban evasion on Roblox?
Roblox’s Community Standards prohibit creating or using an account to avoid enforcement action taken against another account.
Examples include:
- Logging into an alt after a Roblox-wide suspension so you can keep using the platform;
- Creating a new account after termination to replace the terminated account;
- Using another account to continue the conduct that caused the moderation action; or
- Offering or obtaining account access specifically to bypass enforcement or safety systems.
Do not try to hide the relationship between accounts or use tools intended to circumvent Roblox’s systems. Roblox also prohibits attempts to evade safety and security systems, and its standards address certain unauthorized uses of VPNs to mask location or obtain access.

Therefore, claims that a particular IP address, device, cookie, payment method, phone number, or VPN is always responsible for a linked-account action are not confirmed by the cited Roblox policies. Shared Wi-Fi or a shared device should not automatically be treated as proof that every account belongs to one person.
The important point is that Roblox can make a linked-account determination, but users cannot reliably predict the decision from one publicly documented technical signal.
Does Roblox automatically ban every alt?
No automatic-every-alt rule is stated in the public policy. Roblox says it may act against different accounts it determines belong to the same user. That leaves room for account-specific decisions.

If an alt was affected incorrectly, or if the original action resulted from unauthorized access or a mistake, explain that clearly in an appeal.
What happens to Robux and items?
A Roblox-wide suspension or termination can affect access to the account and its acquired content. Roblox’s Terms warn that enforcement may affect access to Robux, experiences, in-experience items, and virtual items.
This is another reason not to treat a new account as a safe replacement for a moderated one. Creating another account does not restore access to content on the affected account and may create a separate enforcement issue.
Cheating, exploiting, and modified Roblox apps
Using an alt for cheating or exploiting is especially risky. Roblox says that cheating and exploiting violate its Terms and can lead to account deletion. See Roblox’s cheating and exploiting guidance.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to do if your main or alt account was banned
- Read the moderation notice. Determine whether it is a warning, timeout, temporary suspension, termination, content action, or experience-specific ban.
- Do not switch to an alt to bypass a Roblox-wide action. That may itself violate the ban-evasion rule.
- Use Roblox’s official appeal route. Follow the link in the moderation notice, use Violations & Appeals where available, or submit the Roblox Support Form.
- Appeal within the deadline. Roblox’s general appeal period is 30 days from the moderation action. Roblox says users in the European Union may have up to six months for an initial moderation action under its EU process.
- Identify every affected account. Include the correct username for the moderated account and any other relevant usernames. Roblox’s Contact Us guidance says users seeking help with more than one username should include all usernames in the description.
- Keep the explanation factual. State the date, exact moderation message or violation category, why the action may be incorrect, and whether unauthorized access was involved.
Roblox says an appeal is a request for review, not a guarantee that the consequence will be removed. Do not submit repeated duplicate appeals: Roblox says an action that has already been reviewed will not be reviewed again, and duplicate appeals will not be reviewed.
A concise appeal template
You can structure an appeal like this:
“Username: [username]. Moderation date: [date]. The notice states: [exact message]. I believe this action should be reconsidered because [brief factual explanation]. The following related account may also have been affected: [username]. If the accounts were linked because of unauthorized access or activity by someone else, please review that information. Please review the moderation action and any linked-account enforcement.”

Do not threaten support, exaggerate, speculate about detection systems, or send an appeal for someone else. Roblox says only the account owner—or, where applicable, a parent or guardian—can discuss that account’s moderation status.
What if you were banned from only one Roblox game?
A ban from one Roblox experience is not necessarily a Roblox-wide account ban. Experience creators can set and enforce custom rules inside their experiences. Roblox’s guidance on custom experience rules says appeals for those rules generally need to go to the creator.
Error Code 267 commonly indicates that the experience creator has banned the user from that experience. It does not, by itself, prove that Roblox has suspended the entire account.
In this situation, contact the creator or the experience’s official support channel. Roblox Support generally does not overturn a creator’s decision about custom experience rules.
Quick Recap
Common mistakes to avoid
- “Roblox bans all alts automatically.” Too absolute; Roblox says it may act against accounts it determines belong to the same user.
- “All alt accounts are against the rules.” Overbroad; Roblox supports multiple accounts through its Account Switcher for eligible users.
- “Just make a new account.” This can be considered enforcement evasion after a Roblox-wide action.
- “Use a VPN to avoid the ban.” This is not a safe workaround and may conflict with Roblox’s safety and security rules.
- “A game ban means Roblox banned you.” The action may come only from the experience creator.
- “Spam appeals until someone reverses it.” Roblox says duplicate appeals may not be reviewed.
