You can’t add AI bots to a VALORANT Custom Game using any method documented in Riot’s official patch notes. For bot practice, use Range Practice Mode; for a match-style alternative, check whether Bot Training Match is available in your Practice menu. Neither option puts bots into a custom lobby.
Can you add bots to a VALORANT Custom Game?
Riot’s official notes reviewed here do not document a custom-lobby setting or other supported way to add AI players to a Custom Game. The bot options Riot does describe are separate modes: Range Practice Mode and Bot Training Match.

How to practice against bots in the Range
On PC, VALORANT Patch Notes 13.05, published September 1, 2026, added a bot-count option in Range Practice Mode. The available counts are 1, 5, or 10, with 5 as the default. Adjust the count in the Range settings; it controls the Range exercise, not a Custom Game lobby. Riot’s Patch Notes 13.05
What is Bot Training Match?
Bot Training Match is a separate match-format training option, not a way to add bots to a custom lobby. Riot introduced it in Patch Notes 8.11 as an optional full Swift Play match on Haven, with AI-controlled bots and teammates, for new console players. Riot’s Patch Notes 8.11

Riot’s Patch Notes 9.02 later said Basic Training and The Range became available on PC. New players had the option of a Bot Training Match, while current players could access Basic Training and The Range from the Practice menu. These notes do not establish that Bot Training Match is currently available to every player or on every platform, so check the in-client Practice menu for your account. Riot’s Patch Notes 9.02
