No—not as a confirmed feature. As of October 18, 2026, Rockstar has not announced a way to import MP3 or WAV files into Grand Theft Auto VI, connect a personal playlist such as Spotify, create a custom station, or use a GTA V-style “Self Radio” equivalent. Rockstar’s published GTA VI music information describes curated radio stations, podcasts and an official album instead. Those details could change in a post-launch update, so treat any claim about personal music as speculation unless Rockstar documents it.
What Rockstar has officially confirmed for GTA VI audio
Rockstar describes GTA VI as having “the biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio and podcasts yet.” The wording points to professionally selected in-game programming rather than a user-import system. The announcement does not describe local-file scanning, playlist import, account linking, station editing or a personal-music menu.

Six stations previewed by Rockstar
Rockstar’s music page previews six stations. Their descriptions indicate the intended range of the launch soundtrack:

- Cocoteo: modern Latin music.
- Back Country Radio: renegade country.
- Afro Bank FM: Amapiano and African music.
- The Chamber: metal.
- Flash FM: pop.
- Dirty South Classics: regional rap and hip-hop.
These are curated station identities, not evidence that players can add tracks to them. Rockstar may reveal more stations, hosts, songs or audio options later, but the published preview does not include a user-created station.

Podcasts are part of the package
The same announcement includes podcasts alongside music stations. That matters because radio in GTA is broader than a simple playlist: programming can include talk segments and other presented content. Nothing in the announcement says players can upload their own spoken audio or replace those shows.
The official album
Rockstar also lists Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, identified as 34 original tracks — Rockstar Games, 2026. The music page links to pre-order vinyl and CD editions. This is an official soundtrack product, not a feature for importing songs from a player’s own collection.
Which personal-music features remain unconfirmed
The following requests are common, but none is described in Rockstar’s current GTA VI announcement:
Recommended Free Tools
| Feature players ask about | Published GTA VI status on October 18, 2026 | What Rockstar has actually documented |
|---|---|---|
| Importing MP3 or WAV files | Unconfirmed | The announcement does not mention local files or a User Tracks folder. |
| Spotify or another streaming-service playlist | Unconfirmed | No streaming-account connection or playlist-import control is described. |
| A custom station made from personal songs | Unconfirmed | The preview identifies curated stations, not a station editor. |
| Skipping or rearranging individual GTA VI radio songs | Unconfirmed | No song-management or queue controls are listed. |
| A “Self Radio” station | Unconfirmed | Rockstar has not announced a GTA VI station with that name or equivalent behavior. |
“Unconfirmed” is not the same as “impossible.” Rockstar could add an option, explain one in a platform-specific support article, or provide it after launch. It simply cannot be treated as a launch feature until an official source says how it works.
Why players expect a custom station
Older GTA releases established a clear precedent for personal audio. Rockstar’s support documentation for the Mac versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas explains that users could put MP3 or WAV files in the relevant User Tracks folder. While driving, they could select the MP3 station to hear that custom playlist. The support article was last updated June 12, 2023.
That history explains questions such as “Will GTA 6 have Self Radio like GTA 5 PC?” and “Does GTA 6 let me import MP3s?” It also supplies the terminology many players remember: a game folder, a scan of local files and a dedicated station in the vehicle radio wheel. However, a feature documented for earlier Mac editions is historical precedent, not a promise for GTA VI. The current GTA VI announcement does not carry the User Tracks instructions forward.

What the old workflow involved
- Prepare music files in MP3 or WAV format.
- Place those files in the game’s relevant User Tracks folder, following the instructions for the supported Mac title.
- Start the game and get into a vehicle.
- Select the MP3 station while driving to play the custom playlist.
This describes Rockstar’s earlier Mac support workflow only. It does not establish a GTA VI folder location, supported file formats, operating-system support, scanning button or radio-wheel entry.

Can you add your own music to GTA 6 radio stations?
There is no confirmed method. Rockstar has shown curated stations and podcasts, but has not published a user-music import procedure or a control for adding songs to those stations.
Will GTA 6 have Self Radio?
Rockstar has not confirmed a “Self Radio” station or a function that behaves like one. Until an official announcement names the feature and explains its supported platform and mode, assume the label is a community expectation rather than a documented part of GTA VI.
Can you use a Spotify playlist in GTA 6?
No Spotify integration has been announced. A streaming integration would require Rockstar to explain account linking, licensing, network requirements and what happens when a player is offline; none of those controls appears in the current GTA VI music information.
Does GTA 6 let you import MP3s?
Not according to the information Rockstar has published as of October 18, 2026. The older User Tracks documentation shows that Rockstar has supported local files in some editions, but it does not confirm the same system for GTA VI.
Can you customize or skip GTA 6 radio songs?
The announcement does not list song-skipping, blacklist, replay, queue or station-editing controls. Players should wait for an official manual or support article before assuming any of those options exists.

How to verify the answer after launch
If Rockstar adds personal audio, the most reliable confirmation will be an explicit feature description rather than a screenshot or rumor. Use this checklist:
- Check Rockstar’s GTA VI Newswire announcements. Look for a named feature, supported platforms and an availability date.
- Check Rockstar Support. An official article should identify the folder or account path, accepted formats, scanning process and troubleshooting steps.
- Read the platform-specific instructions. A local-file feature could be limited to PC, while a streaming feature could have separate console requirements. Do not assume that an option shown on one platform exists on another.
- Inspect the game’s audio and radio menus. Look for a clearly labeled User Tracks, MP3, Self Radio, imported playlist or linked-account setting. A curated station list alone does not indicate custom-music support.
- Confirm the game mode. If a feature is added, verify whether it works in single-player, online play or both. Rockstar has not stated this for GTA VI.
These checks also protect against misleading videos that use edited footage, unofficial PC modifications or menus from an earlier GTA game. A genuine feature should be documented by Rockstar with enough detail for players to reproduce it.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. If Rockstar adds the feature, what will matter most?
The label alone would not tell players whether the system meets their needs. The practical differences would be significant:
Local files versus streaming
Local-file support would read audio stored on the device, while streaming integration would depend on an external service and an account. Those approaches have different privacy, licensing, connection and maintenance requirements. Rockstar has not selected either approach publicly for GTA VI.
Platform availability
A User Tracks folder is naturally associated with a computer file system. Console support would need a different method, such as an account connection or approved storage workflow. If Rockstar announces one option, check whether it applies to PC, consoles or a specific edition instead of assuming universal support.
Offline playback
Imported files stored locally could potentially play without an internet connection; a streaming playlist might require connectivity or cached tracks. Rockstar has not stated offline behavior for any GTA VI personal-music feature.
Playlist editing and song controls
Useful implementations could include rescanning files, ordering tracks, skipping a song, disabling a track and switching between stations. Those are evaluation points, not announced GTA VI controls.
Single-player and online rules
Custom audio could be restricted to single-player because online modes may have synchronization, moderation or licensing concerns. Conversely, Rockstar could define a different rule. Players should look for an explicit mode-by-mode statement rather than infer behavior from the radio wheel.
What you can use now
Until Rockstar documents a personal-music system, the confirmed choices are the in-game stations and podcasts it has announced. The six previews cover modern Latin, renegade country, Amapiano and African music, metal, pop, and regional rap and hip-hop. The separately listed 34-track official album provides another way to follow GTA VI’s original music through its announced vinyl and CD editions.
There is no supported GTA VI procedure to copy songs into a folder, connect Spotify, build a station or alter the announced radio lineup. Earlier User Tracks support remains useful background for understanding the request, but it should not be used as a step-by-step guide for GTA VI.
Bottom line for GTA VI players
As of October 18, 2026, the answer is not confirmed: Rockstar has announced curated radio and podcasts, not personal-song imports or streaming playlists. The strongest historical precedent is the User Tracks and MP3-station system documented for the Mac versions of GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas, last updated in Rockstar Support on June 12, 2023. Check Rockstar’s Newswire and Support pages after launch for any change, especially details about platform, offline playback, song controls and single-player or online availability.
