Yes. Elden Ring Nightreign’s opening tutorial ends with a boss encounter identified in gameplay footage as Fell Omen, and the fight can be won. If you lose—or skip the tutorial—you can replay it later from the Codex in the Library.
What happens in the tutorial boss fight?
On a new save, the tutorial introduces controls and tasks through on-screen prompts. It ends with a boss encounter before transporting you to Roundtable Hold, according to Bandai Namco’s official starter guide. Gameplay footage by Esoterickk identifies that encounter as Fell Omen and shows the boss being defeated. That confirms the fight is winnable, but does not mean it is easy or that every player will win on the first try.

How do you retry the tutorial?
- Go to the Library in Roundtable Hold.
- Open the Codex.
- Select the option to replay the tutorial.
Bandai Namco’s beginner guide gives the Library’s Codex as the replay route, and the starter guide confirms that the tutorial can be replayed later. So a failed first attempt—or skipping the opening—is not your only chance to face the encounter.
How should you prepare for Fell Omen?
The official beginner guide describes the Sparring Grounds as a place to test Nightfarer abilities, weapons, and combat actions. You can practice blocks, dodges, and parries against an activated training enemy before returning to the tutorial. This is general combat practice, not a publisher-confirmed Fell Omen counter or required strategy.
