Yes, but not every Oculus Go can pair with AirPods directly. Some Go software builds expose a Bluetooth-pairing option under Experimental Features. Method 1: Try direct Bluetooth pairing
Bluetooth hardware in the Go has traditionally been used for setup and controllers. Later community reports describe a separate Bluetooth-audio option in some Go software versions. The following menu path is therefore version-dependent and community-reported, not a guaranteed feature on every headset.
Put the AirPods in pairing mode
- Remove the AirPods from your ears and place them in the charging case.
- Disconnect them from nearby Apple devices, or temporarily turn Bluetooth off on those devices so they do not reclaim the AirPods.
- Open the case lid.
- Hold the case’s setup control until the status light flashes white. Older cases use a rear button; some newer generations use a front-case gesture. Apple’s instructions are at Apple Support.
Look for the Go’s Bluetooth menu
- Put on the Oculus Go and open Settings.
- Select See All, if that button appears.
- Open Experimental Features.
- Look for Bluetooth Pairing or a similarly named Bluetooth-device option.
- Choose the option to add or pair a device.
- Select your AirPods when they appear and confirm the connection.
- Play a video or system sound to test playback.

If Bluetooth Pairing is missing or fails
Do not assume you missed a normal setting. The Bluetooth-audio menu may simply not be available on your Go’s software configuration. Move to the transmitter method rather than modifying system software or sideloading an APK as a beginner.

Choose the right adapter
Buy a small, rechargeable Bluetooth device that explicitly says it is an audio transmitter and has a 3.5 mm input. A Bluetooth receiver accepts wireless audio and sends it to wired headphones; that is the opposite direction and will not send Go audio to AirPods. Low-latency or gaming modes may help, but no specification guarantees perfect synchronization with every AirPods generation.
Pair the transmitter
- Charge or power the transmitter.
- Set it to Bluetooth transmission mode and activate pairing.
- Put the AirPods in their case, open the lid, and hold the setup control until the light flashes white.
- Wait for the transmitter and AirPods to indicate a connection.
- Plug the transmitter fully into the Go’s 3.5 mm headphone jack.
- Play audio and adjust volume on the Go and AirPods.
If pairing fails, power-cycle the transmitter, reset the AirPods, and retry with nearby phones and computers’ Bluetooth disabled.

Method 3: Use wired headphones
Connect ordinary 3.5 mm earbuds or headphones directly to the Go. This avoids Bluetooth pairing, transmitter charging, wireless interference, and the extra wireless hop that can cause delay. The trade-off is a cable that can catch during movement. For rhythm games, action games, fitness apps, and any experience where sound timing matters, wired audio is usually the safer choice. Latency, static, and VR suitability
Bluetooth audio can arrive after the visual event it belongs to. Delay varies with the AirPods model, transmitter, codec, software, and content, so there is no universal millisecond figure. - Films, menus, podcasts: a small delay may be tolerable.
- Casual apps: test before deciding.
- Rhythm, action, and fitness: wired headphones are less distracting.
- Static or dropouts: recharge both devices, keep them close, remove competing Bluetooth connections, and power-cycle the transmitter.
AirPods may perform better than some generic Bluetooth headphones, but the Go does not guarantee synchronization.

Fix common problems
AirPods never appear
- Keep the case open and hold its setup control until the status light flashes white.
- Turn off Bluetooth temporarily on nearby iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
- Reset the AirPods and restart the Go.
- With a transmitter, power-cycle the transmitter before searching again.
The Go has no Bluetooth menu
This can be a software-availability issue rather than user error. Use the 3.5 mm transmitter or connect wired headphones.
AirPods connect, but audio remains on the Go
- Disconnect and reconnect the AirPods.
- Restart the headset and test a different app.
- Ensure the AirPods are not simultaneously connected elsewhere.
- For a transmitter, verify that it is a transmitter, is fully inserted, and is powered.
Audio is delayed
Try wired headphones first. If you need wireless audio, test a transmitter advertised for low-latency use, but avoid assuming any codec or AirPods generation will eliminate delay.
Voice chat does not work
Listening and microphone input are separate. A transmitter connected to the Go’s headphone jack normally sends audio out; it does not create a microphone return channel. Check the specific app and hardware configuration, and do not assume the AirPods microphone will work.

AirPods are most sensible when you already own them and mainly watch video or use casual apps. Buy a transmitter only if it clearly supports Bluetooth transmission from a 3.5 mm source; a receiver marketed for cars or wired speakers will not do the job. VR-oriented earbuds advertised for newer Quest headsets are not automatically compatible with Oculus Go unless they accept a suitable 3.5 mm source or include a compatible transmitter.
