Yes. Moonlight Peaks lets you date more than one romance candidate at the same time. The point where you need to be careful is not the first date: it is the proposal. Launch-build romance and marriage guides report that proposing to one character makes your other Dating partners become Hurt and drops those relationships back to four hearts. You can explore several routes before committing, but treat the proposal as a relationship-wide decision.
How dating works in Moonlight Peaks
Romance begins with the heart meter. When a romance candidate reaches four hearts, the game unlocks the invitation needed to start dating. Open that character’s interaction menu and choose Invite, then Ask on Date. After you sleep, the date starts on the following night.

The date activity is character-specific, so the event is not identical for every resident. A date does not have to go perfectly for the relationship status to change: the launch-build romance guide says the character is labeled Dating after the date, including when the activity does not produce an ideal result.

- Go to bed; the date takes place the next night.
- Complete the character’s date activity. The relationship then shows as Dating.
Nothing in the reviewed guides indicates that starting a second date automatically punishes the first partner. The available evidence supports simultaneous Dating relationships, not a hidden penalty for simply meeting several candidates.

What changes when you propose
Moonlight Peaks treats a proposal as the meaningful commitment milestone. The marriage guide describes this sequence:
- Reach eight hearts with the character you want to marry.
- See that character’s eight-heart scene.
- Invite them on another date.
- Choose the proposal option at the end of that date.
According to the launch-build marriage and romance guides, proposing while you are Dating other people changes those other relationships. Each other Dating partner is reported to become Hurt and return to four hearts. This is a guide-reported gameplay finding, not a quoted developer statement, so dialogue and reactions should not be assumed to be word-for-word identical for every character.

Can you date more than one person at once?
Yes. The launch-build romance guide and PC Gamer’s July 7, 2026 dating guide both describe more than one Dating relationship existing at once. You can therefore use the early and middle parts of the romance system to learn about several characters, see their date events, and decide who suits your playthrough before proposing.

That permission is narrower than an assurance that every character will react identically. The guides establish the status change and the proposal-related Hurt result, but they do not provide a complete dialogue catalogue for every resident. If a character’s wording differs, rely on the relationship label and heart count shown in your game rather than assuming a line from another route must appear.
What happens if you invite several people on the same night?
There is a practical scheduling wrinkle. PC Gamer reports that when multiple invitations are made on one night, the most recently invited person appears first, while later dates seemed to queue. The game does not provide a clearly documented queue tracker, so regard this as an observed guide caveat rather than a confirmed rule or punishment.
If you want to keep your calendar easy to read, invite one person, sleep to trigger the next-night date, and then make the next invitation. That spacing is not required by the evidence, but it avoids guessing which event is currently queued. Check the next day’s schedule and the character’s interaction menu if a date does not appear when expected.

A simple scheduling routine
- Before bed, confirm which candidate you invited and note the next-night date.
- Do not stack several invitations unless you are comfortable with the newest invitation taking priority.
- After the date, verify that the relationship label reads Dating.
- Only then plan the next invitation, especially if you are tracking several eight-heart scenes.
Dating versus proposing: the decision you need to make
The safest way to think about the system is to separate exploration from commitment. Dating is the game’s way to open a route; proposing selects one route and reportedly applies the relationship change to the others.

- Commitment phase: At eight hearts, view the scene and take the additional date that unlocks the proposal.
- After the proposal: Expect other Dating partners to show Hurt and return to four hearts, based on the launch-build guides.
Do not read the proposal result as proof that Moonlight Peaks forbids dating around. The reported reset occurs at the proposal milestone, not when you unlock a second date.
Is the proposal consequence permanent?
The available marriage guide describes a later divorce route, so the proposal should not be treated as an absolutely irreversible save-state decision. However, divorce is a separate, later system and does not erase the immediate effect reported for the other Dating partners. Their relationships are still described as Hurt and reset to four hearts after you propose.

If you are trying to see several romance stories in one playthrough, finish the date and heart-level events you care about before proposing. If you have already proposed, check each former Dating partner’s current heart count and status; the guides support rebuilding from the reported four-heart state rather than assuming the old Dating status remains.

The official Steam description markets Moonlight Peaks as a supernatural life-simulation game with “maybe even find your ‘tomb’ love from any of the two dozen romanceable characters in the process.” That is promotional wording and rounds the total. The launch-build gameplay wiki lists 23 characters. Those figures describe the same broad roster but should not be silently treated as identical counts.
The number does not change the relationship rule: the relevant thresholds are four hearts for the first date and eight hearts plus the required scene and date for a proposal. Character availability can vary with updates, platform releases, or regional builds, so use the roster and heart requirements shown in your version.

Troubleshooting a romance route
The Ask on Date option is missing
- Check that the candidate has reached four hearts; the date invitation is reported to unlock at that threshold.
- Confirm that you selected Invite before looking for Ask on Date.
- Make sure you are interacting with a romance candidate rather than a non-romance resident.
The date did not start the next night
- Verify that you slept after accepting the invitation; the reported sequence schedules the date for the following night.
- If you invited more than one person, remember that the newest invitation is reported to play first and later dates may queue without a visible tracker.
- Check the character’s status after the event. A less-than-perfect activity can still leave the relationship labeled Dating.
Another partner suddenly says they are Hurt
That reaction is associated in the guides with proposing to someone while other Dating relationships exist. Review whether you completed the eight-heart scene and selected the proposal at the end of the subsequent date. Simply having several dates is not established as the trigger.
Which platforms and versions does this cover?
The official game site directs players to Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Google Play. A June 11, 2026 regional announcement from Clouded Leopard Entertainment lists packaged Switch and Switch 2 editions alongside download editions, while a Canadian Nintendo listing identifies its edition as digital. Those regional listings show that physical and digital forms exist in specific markets; they do not establish United States retail availability or imported-package compatibility.
The romance details above come from launch-build gameplay guides and a PC Gamer guide published July 7, 2026, rather than a developer’s mechanics reference. Patches and regional releases can alter relationship labels, scheduling, or dialogue. If a later update changes the behavior, the in-game heart meter and status text are the most immediate indicators of what your build is doing.
A low-risk plan for your first romance playthrough
- Choose several candidates and raise each to four hearts.
- Invite them one at a time if you want predictable scheduling.
- Complete each date and record the resulting Dating status.
- Continue to eight hearts with the characters whose scenes you want to see.
- Finish the eight-heart scene and the follow-up date for your preferred partner.
- Save or otherwise prepare before selecting the proposal if you want a clear decision point.
- After proposing, check the other partners so you know which relationships became Hurt and returned to four hearts.
This approach lets you sample multiple routes without confusing the date queue, while reserving the reported relationship reset for the moment you are ready to commit.
