If you mean deleting a custom character or an individual Nightfarer profile in Elden Ring Nightreign, the official materials reviewed do not document a supported way to do that. The game does let you switch Nightfarers and customize their builds with relics—but that is different from creating or deleting a bespoke avatar.
What “custom character” means in Nightreign
The phrase can refer to three different things, and the answer depends on which one you mean:

- A bespoke avatar or appearance: The official guide and PS5 manual reviewed do not describe a player-created character appearance system like the one readers may know from Elden Ring.
- A different playable character: You can choose another Nightfarer. The official PS5 manual lists character selection, and Bandai Namco says you can change characters at the Roundtable Hold.
- A customized build: You can equip relics to shape a Nightfarer’s abilities and playstyle. Bandai Namco’s gameplay guide says, “Depending on the player’s customization choices, even the same character can be used in various playstyles.”
How to switch Nightfarers and customize a build
Choose a different Nightfarer
Return to the Roundtable Hold and change characters there. The manual also describes a Characters section for choosing whom to use. The documented action is switching the selected Nightfarer, not deleting one.
Set up relics at Relic Rites
Relic Rites are at the Roundtable. Each character can equip up to three relics on designated vessels. A relic can have up to three random effects, and effects may differ by character or ability. Relics are not consumed when you return from an expedition, so you can keep using them across runs.

Relics modify a Nightfarer’s build; they do not turn that character into a separately created avatar or profile.

No individual-character deletion procedure is established in the official materials reviewed. The Bandai Namco Europe PS5 manual describes Continue, Load Game, and New Game, and says that the game autosaves at specific times. It does not explain how to erase one Nightfarer or what starting a new game would do to an existing character or save.

Do not treat loading a save or choosing New Game as a documented way to delete a single Nightfarer. The supported platforms listed in that manual are PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS4, and Xbox One; save behavior can depend on the platform, and the manual does not provide a per-character deletion path for any of them.
Third-party tools describe encrypted-save editing, but that is not official game support and does not establish a safe or supported deletion method. Back up saves before any save-file changes, and do not rely on an editor as a routine solution.

What to do if you only want a different playstyle
- Go to the Roundtable Hold.
- Select the Nightfarer you want to play.
- Open Relic Rites and equip relics on that character’s designated vessels.
- Adjust the relic combination to change the build rather than attempting to remove the character.
