Roblox does not offer a supported download for an old app or client version in the official sources available as of October 8, 2026. Download the current Roblox app from Roblox’s download page or your device’s official app store. If you want an older version because your device cannot run the current app, check Roblox’s current requirements and use the official troubleshooting steps—not an unofficial client installer.
Can you install an old Roblox app version?
Roblox’s official download and support pages provide current app installation guidance, not a supported way to download historical clients. That covers requests for a legacy app, including the former Windows app; the available guidance does not offer a way to restore an earlier Roblox interface or game experience either.
A third-party site may claim to host an old installer, but Roblox does not verify those downloads in the cited guidance. An old or modified client may fail to connect or create account-security risks, so it is not a reliable workaround for an update or compatibility problem.
What to use on Windows instead
Roblox’s Windows guidance directs players to the newer Microsoft Store app, listed as Roblox – Windows. The earlier Store listing is named Roblox. On the computer, Roblox distinguishes the newer app by its blue icon and the old app by its light-gray icon.

Install the newer app and sign in with your Roblox account. Roblox says progress, friends, Robux, and inventory are tied to the account and available after signing in. Once the new app is installed and you have successfully signed in, the old app is no longer needed; Roblox says it will eventually stop working. These instructions apply to the Windows app transition, not to other platforms. See Roblox’s Windows app instructions.

The app version or listing differs by region
Roblox says app versions can vary by account region. Before downloading a new version through Apple’s App Store or Google Play, set the store region correctly. Check Roblox’s account-location guidance.

Roblox warns against using modified versions of its app or software that changes how Roblox works. It says such software can put account information at risk and enable cheating or exploitation; use may lead to a temporary suspension or, for repeated violations, permanent account action. Roblox recommends reinstalling an official, unmodified version from its website or an official mobile app store. Read Roblox’s anti-cheat guidance.
