Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2024 Edition FAQ says Nintendo Switch players can download up to 40 base-game songs for offline play, subject to storage and map-version limits. Ubisoft says Just Dance+ songs cannot be downloaded and require an internet connection. That 40-song limit is specific to the FAQ’s Switch guidance; it is not confirmed for every platform or newer edition.
What you can download for offline play
Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2024 Edition FAQ says Nintendo Switch players can download up to 40 songs from the base game to play offline. Ubisoft also cautions that some map versions may not be downloadable because of limited download space. The FAQ does not establish that every base-game song or map version will fit on a particular console.

The stated cap is tied to the 2024 FAQ and its Nintendo Switch instructions. It should not be treated as a universal limit for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch 2, or every Just Dance edition.
Can you download Just Dance+ songs?
No. Ubisoft describes Just Dance+ as a streaming service and says its maps cannot be downloaded; an internet connection is required to access the catalog. The base-game download option does not let you save subscription songs for offline play. See Ubisoft’s Just Dance+ page for the service description.

How offline play differs by platform and edition
| What Ubisoft specifies | What it means |
|---|---|
| Nintendo Switch, Just Dance 2024 FAQ: up to 40 base-game songs can be downloaded for offline play; some map versions may not download because of limited space. | This is the explicit offline-download guidance. Ubisoft does not confirm the same cap for all platforms or editions. |
| PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, Just Dance 2024 FAQ: an internet connection is required to set up the game and use the dedicated controller app. | This setup and controller requirement is separate from the FAQ’s Switch download instructions; it does not establish the full offline behavior of those consoles. |
| Just Dance 2026 Edition, announced October 14, 2025: available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and playable on Nintendo Switch 2 through backwards compatibility. | The announcement lists 40 new songs but does not say that the 2024 FAQ’s 40-song offline cap applies to this edition. Check current edition-specific guidance for your platform. (Ubisoft announcement) |
What to check before going offline
- Confirm the edition and platform. The explicit up-to-40 download instruction comes from Ubisoft’s 2024 FAQ and is stated for Nintendo Switch.
- Download base-game maps while connected. The FAQ’s offline option applies to base-game songs, not Just Dance+ maps.
- Leave enough storage available. Ubisoft warns that limited download space can prevent some map versions from downloading.
- Plan for setup and controller connectivity. Ubisoft says PS5 and Xbox Series X|S need internet to set up the game and use the dedicated controller app.
Does the 2026 edition change the download limit?
Ubisoft’s October 14, 2025 announcement for Just Dance 2026 Edition describes 40 new songs and says each copy includes a one-month Just Dance+ trial. Deluxe editions include an additional three months, while Ultimate editions include an additional 12 months. These are trial inclusions, not offline-download allowances, and the announcement does not confirm whether 2026 supports the same offline song cap described in the 2024 FAQ.
For older context, Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2023 product page described 40 songs playable online or offline and said boxed copies used a downloadable code rather than a cartridge, CD, or disc. Those details apply to the 2023 edition and should not be assumed for current retail formats.
