1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsSometimes—but first identify what kind of bow snapped. A violin-family bow may be repairable depending on whether the damage is at the tip, frog, or stick. If an archery bow is damaged, stop using it and have the manufacturer or a qualified service provider assess it before drawing or shooting again.
What kind of bow snapped?
“Bow” can mean a string-instrument bow, such as a violin or bass bow, or an archery bow. Their construction and repair paths differ, so the type and model matter before anyone can say whether yours can be fixed.
- String-instrument bow: A broken tip or frog may be repairable by a specialist. A broken stick is a more serious case, and guidance differs by maker and repairer.
- Archery bow: Do not draw or shoot a damaged bow. Contact its maker or a qualified service provider for an assessment.
Can a snapped violin or other string-instrument bow be repaired?
It depends on where the bow broke and the bow’s condition. A tip break is not the same as a break in the stick—the long, tensioned part of the bow—and there is no universal repair rule that applies to every maker and repair shop.
Broken tip or frog
SUGITO BOW describes a broken tip as a common repair and advises having it repaired promptly. Specialist repairers also list tip and frog repairs or grafts. Nippon Violin, for example, invites inquiries about broken heads or frogs, while noting limitations in restoration. These are specialist services, not a guarantee that every damaged bow is repairable.

Broken stick
SUGITO BOW says that the stick of one of its bows cannot be repaired and may instead be replaced with a stick of similar quality. That is the maker’s guidance for its own bows, not a rule shared by every repairer. Other specialists document selected broken-stick repairs, including repairs to violin and bass bows. Those examples show that restoration is possible in some cases; they do not establish that every break can be repaired safely or that the bow will retain its original performance or value.
Don’t assume that gluing the pieces at home will restore a dependable playing bow. Ask a specialist to inspect the damage and explain whether repair is appropriate.

What if an archery bow is snapped or cracked?
Stop using it and get an assessment from the manufacturer or a qualified service provider before drawing or shooting it again. Do not treat a visible crack, limb break, or delamination as a cosmetic problem.
Bear Archery’s repair request form lists limb repair, stick-bow or recurve delamination, and accidental damage as repair categories. It asks for details such as brand, type, serial number, model, draw weight, and draw length. This is a route for owners to request service; it does not confirm that every bow or type of damage is eligible.

How to decide between repair and replacement
Get an inspection and estimate before deciding. There is no universal price threshold or published repair-success rate in the sources cited here, so weigh the actual condition and cost of your bow rather than relying on a general rule.
