Yes. Bulkhead’s official WARDOGS Security and Enforcement policy and EULA explicitly prohibit deliberately exploiting bugs, glitches, design errors, undocumented features, or other unintended behavior for an advantage. That includes XP, cash, movement, damage, spawn, and progression exploits. Possible consequences range from a server restriction or temporary suspension to a permanent account ban and, usually, a hardware ban that blocks online play from the device.
Bulkhead can also remove the advantage by resetting cash, XP, progression, cosmetics, statistics, leaderboard placements, or competition entries. The exact penalty depends on what happened, how deliberate it was, and the account’s history. Only a permanent account ban has the published appeal route.

What the WARDOGS rules classify as an XP exploit
The key issue is intent and advantage. Bulkhead’s Security and Enforcement policy says that deliberately exploiting bugs, glitches, or unintended behavior for an advantage can trigger suspension or a ban. Its examples include damage, movement, spawn, and progression exploits. XP farming falls under progression exploitation when a player knowingly repeats an unintended method to accelerate advancement or obtain rewards.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteThe EULA uses similar language. It defines cheating to include the deliberate exploitation of bugs, glitches, design errors, or undocumented features within the game. You do not need a third-party cheat program for the conduct to qualify. Repeatedly using a broken mission, map interaction, server setup, or progression loop after recognizing that it is unintended can be enough.

Accidental discovery versus continued abuse
Finding an unexpected result once is not the same as systematically farming it. The published policy does not provide a numerical threshold for how many repetitions become punishable, and it does not promise immunity for an exploit that remains available in the live game. Once you recognize that a method is producing XP or cash outside normal design, the safest course is to stop, leave the session, and report the issue through the game’s normal support channels.
Do not assume that an exploit is safe because other players are using it, because a server advertises it as an “XP farm,” or because no action has appeared immediately. Enforcement can occur after logs are reviewed or after Bulkhead identifies a pattern.
What penalties can Bulkhead apply?
Bulkhead chooses the response case by case. The policy says it considers the circumstances, the degree of deliberateness, and the player’s history. It can apply more than one measure at the same time. The following comparison reflects the scope and appeal rules stated in the policy.
| Action | Scope | Duration | Progression consequences | Published appeal route |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Server restriction | A specific community or game server | Not stated; may remain until lifted by Bulkhead | Not stated; incident-specific resets may still be imposed | No. The policy treats it as final. |
| Temporary suspension | The WARDOGS account’s online access | Temporary; the policy does not set a universal length | Cash, XP, progression, or other records may be removed | No ordinary appeal route is published. |
| Permanent account ban | The player account | Permanent unless Bulkhead overturns it | Bulkhead may reset cash, XP, progression, cosmetics, statistics, leaderboard placements, and competition entries | Yes. Only this action is appealable under the published process. |
| Hardware ban | The device used to play online | Permanent unless associated action is overturned | Blocks online play from that device; account-level resets may also apply | Not separately appealable. If tied to a permanent account ban and that account appeal succeeds, Bulkhead says it will lift the associated hardware ban. |
A permanent ban usually comes with a hardware ban. A hardware ban is broader than an account restriction because creating or using another account on the same device will not restore online access from that hardware.
Can Bulkhead reset your cash, XP, or whole account?
It can reset more than the specific XP gained from an exploit. The enforcement policy and Bulkhead’s exploit warning list cash, XP, progression, cosmetics, statistics, leaderboard placements, and competition entries among the records that may be removed or reset.
That does not mean every incident automatically produces a full account wipe. The policy does not promise a fixed percentage, a particular rollback date, or a standard list of fields for every case. Bulkhead decides the scope according to the incident. A cash and XP rollback may be used to remove an illicit advantage, while a more serious or repeated case may also affect other progression or competitive records.
What “reset” can mean in practice
- Cash: in-game currency linked to the exploit can be removed.
- XP and level progression: earned progression can be rolled back or wiped.
- Cosmetics: items obtained through affected progression may be removed.
- Statistics: tracked records can be corrected or reset.
- Leaderboards: placements achieved with an exploit can be deleted.
- Competition entries: tournament or event participation records can be invalidated.
There is no published guarantee that legitimately earned progress from before the exploit will be preserved, nor a promise that a successful appeal restores every item. The only stated commitment is that Bulkhead will review an eligible permanent-ban appeal and decide whether to overturn the action.

What happened in the Season 2 driver-XP incident?
PC Gamer reported in 2026 that Bulkhead was fixing a driver-progression exploit during Season 2. According to that report, fewer than 1,000 players who were “very clearly” taking advantage of the exploit received 24-hour bans and had their cash and XP wiped.
Rank #3
This is an incident report, not a universal penalty formula. It shows that Bulkhead has used a short suspension combined with a targeted rollback for a clearly abusive progression exploit, but it does not establish that every XP exploit will result in a 24-hour ban, that fewer than 1,000 is the total number of users, or that players who used a different exploit will receive the same treatment.
The official Steam announcement gave a stronger general warning: players caught abusing cash and XP exploits faced a cash and progression reset and risked a permanent ban. Read together, the announcement and the Season 2 example mean that a rollback can occur even when the suspension is temporary, and a permanent ban remains possible when Bulkhead considers the conduct serious enough.
Can you appeal a WARDOGS ban?
The published appeal process is narrow. Only a permanent account ban can be appealed. Server restrictions, temporary suspensions, and hardware bans are final under the Security and Enforcement policy and do not have an ordinary appeal route.

Bulkhead aims to respond within 30 days. That is a stated target, not a guaranteed deadline. The company will not disclose the detection evidence or explain how its detection systems work. An appeal therefore cannot force disclosure of logs, server identifiers, formulas, or anti-cheat methods.
How to write the one appeal you are allowed
- Confirm the action. Make sure the notice is a permanent account ban, not a temporary suspension, server restriction, or hardware ban without a permanent account ban.
- Identify the account. State the exact account name and platform. Add any case or ticket number shown in the notice.
- Give a concise factual explanation. Describe what happened, when you noticed the action, and any context that could distinguish an accident from deliberate abuse. Do not submit a long argument about how other players behaved.
- Ask for a review. Request that Bulkhead reconsider the permanent account action and any associated hardware ban.
- Send one complete message. Repeat appeals for the same ban are not reconsidered, so gather the relevant facts before sending.
Bulkhead’s policy does not promise restoration of cash, XP, cosmetics, statistics, or other records even if an appeal succeeds. It also states that appeal decisions are final.
What to do if you used an XP-farming server or exploit
- Stop immediately. Do not repeat the exploit, join additional farming sessions, or test whether the method still works.
- Remove alteration tools. Do not install software that changes game files, memory, network traffic, or progression data. Such tools can create separate violations and make the facts harder to assess.
- Preserve ordinary account information. Keep the account name, platform, dates, and any official notices. Do not tamper with logs or attempt to conceal activity.
- Wait for the action notice. A missing immediate punishment is not confirmation that the behavior was allowed. Bulkhead may act after reviewing records.
- Use the correct route. If the action is permanent at the account level, send one appeal to [email protected]. If it is temporary, a server restriction, or only a hardware ban, the published policy provides no ordinary appeal.
If the issue concerns personal-data access, correction, or deletion rather than enforcement, Bulkhead lists [email protected] for data-protection requests. That address does not replace the permanent-ban appeal process.

How to distinguish the likely outcome from the notice
“Server restricted”
This points to a server-level action rather than a universal account ban. You may still be able to access other parts of WARDOGS, but the policy gives no normal appeal path for the restriction. Do not evade it by moving the exploit to another server.

“Suspended” with an end date
This is temporary account enforcement. The policy does not provide a standard appeal route for a temporary suspension. When access returns, continuing the same behavior can create a new violation and may increase the response.
“Permanently banned”
This is the only status with the published appeal process. Send one complete email with your account name and platform. A related hardware ban may remain while the appeal is pending; Bulkhead says it will lift that associated hardware ban if the account appeal succeeds.
“Hardware banned”
This blocks online play from the affected device. A hardware ban on its own is not appealable under the policy. If it was imposed alongside a permanent account ban, address the account ban in the single appeal rather than sending a separate hardware request.
Common misconceptions about XP exploits
- “It is built into a public server, so it must be allowed.” Availability does not turn unintended behavior into an approved progression method. The rule covers deliberate exploitation regardless of where it occurs.
- “Only people using external cheats get banned.” The EULA expressly includes deliberate exploitation of bugs, glitches, design errors, and undocumented features.
- “A rollback means there will be no ban.” Bulkhead can combine a progression reset with a suspension or permanent ban.
- “A new account avoids the penalty.” The policy says enforcement applies to the account that used the exploit, and a permanent ban usually includes a hardware ban that blocks online play from the device.
- “I can keep appealing until someone changes the decision.” Repeat appeals for the same ban are not reconsidered, and decisions are final.
Bottom line for WARDOGS players
Deliberate XP or progression exploitation is explicitly bannable under both Bulkhead’s Security and Enforcement policy and its EULA. The practical risk is not limited to losing the XP: Bulkhead can remove cash, progression, cosmetics, statistics, leaderboard placements, and competition entries, while penalties can escalate from a server restriction or temporary suspension to a permanent account and hardware ban.
If you receive a permanent account ban, use [email protected] once, include your account name and platform, and expect that Bulkhead may take up to 30 days to respond without revealing detection evidence. Temporary suspensions, server restrictions, and hardware bans have no published ordinary appeal route.
