You can earn the Necrofluid Gauntlet in a Solo Zombies match on Ashes of the Damned. You do not need a co-op lobby, although every fight, escort, timed objective and puzzle must be handled by one player. The quest runs through Uber Klaus, an Aether Barrel, three charging pumps, the Vandorn Farm symbol puzzle and a final basement trial.
What the Necrofluid Gauntlet is
The Necrofluid Gauntlet is the map-specific Wonder Weapon for Ashes of the Damned. Call of Duty’s official Black Ops 7 Zombies deep dive describes a weapon that reshapes its dark liquid into spikes, fires those spikes at targets, then recalls them into the Gauntlet for additional damage. It can also pull items and Power-Ups toward you from a distance.

You earn it through a multi-stage quest during the match; it is not placed in your loadout automatically at the start. The quest is therefore a practical solo test of movement, crowd control, escort positioning and objective timing rather than a simple weapon pickup.

Guide presentations differ slightly at the opening. GameSpot describes the quest as beginning with activation of three power generators before the remaining Wonder Weapon steps. PC Gamer’s detailed walkthrough begins its explicit chain with Uber Klaus. The route below follows that detailed chain; if your run uses the generator-opening sequence, complete those activations before proceeding.

Step-by-step: get the Gauntlet in Solo mode
1. Defeat Uber Klaus at Janus Towers Plaza
Uber Klaus appears at Janus Towers Plaza from Round 8 onward, according to PC Gamer’s walkthrough. Defeat him to obtain the Stabilizer Chip. Because the encounter is the first major gate in the explicit route, do not leave the area expecting the chip to appear elsewhere; verify the drop before moving on.
In Solo, the fight also competes with the normal Zombies flow. You cannot hand the miniboss to a second player while you collect an item or reposition, so keep enough room to identify the drop and continue the objective without losing track of the arena.
2. Activate Klaus in the Ashwood jail
Take the Stabilizer Chip to Klaus in the Ashwood jail and install it. The activation sequence requires three Stun Grenades. Hit Klaus with all three, then use the Tactical-equipment command to direct him.

The order matters: installing the chip starts the interaction, the three stuns enable the activation, and the Tactical-equipment command is how you issue the direction. If Klaus is not responding as expected, check that all three Stun Grenades connected and that you are using the tactical command rather than an unrelated equipment action.

3. Escort Klaus to Zarya Cosmodrome
Direct Klaus to the Support Systems room at Zarya Cosmodrome. At the control panel, start the scan and defend Klaus while it runs. When the scan is complete, collect the Aether Barrel.
This is the first point where co-op would naturally split duties: one player could focus on the escort or panel while another watches the surrounding enemies. Alone, you must alternate between keeping Klaus on course, initiating the panel interaction and protecting the scan. Do not leave until the scan has finished and the barrel is available.
4. Charge the Aether Barrel at three pumps
With the Aether Barrel in hand, visit the pumps at these locations:

Each pump contributes to the barrel’s charge, but the charge decays on a timer. The route therefore has an execution window: spending too long between pumps can erase progress and force you to repeat the charging work.

PC Gamer recommends saving Vandorn Farm for last. Follow that order unless your current run gives you a specific reason to change it. Also avoid Jump Pads while carrying the barrel; using one makes you drop it. A dropped barrel can turn a successful charge sequence into a recovery and travel problem, which is especially costly when the timer is already running.
In Solo, plan the movement before activating a pump. The important constraint is not a published completion-time target—none is provided—but the fact that the charge window is temporary. Move directly between objectives, avoid unnecessary detours and treat Vandorn Farm as the final pump in the recommended sequence.
5. Read and solve the Vandorn Farm cube
After charging the barrel, go to the barn cellar at Vandorn Farm and interact with the cube. The solution uses three glowing symbols on rooftops near Janus Towers Plaza.

- Use the Jump Pad toward Janus Towers Plaza to reach the viewing route.
- Look for the three glowing rooftop symbols.
- Memorize their symbols and their order.
- Return to the barn cellar at Vandorn Farm.
- Set the cube’s three symbols to match what you saw on the rooftops.
The puzzle is a memory-and-navigation check rather than a random code supplied in advance. The relevant symbols are the ones visible during your own Jump Pad trip, so record them mentally in sequence before returning. The warning about Jump Pads dropping the barrel applies while carrying it; the cube’s viewing trip is the step that uses the Jump Pad to inspect the rooftops.

- Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower.
- This is signature Black Ops across a cinematic single-player Campaign, a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, and the epic return of Round-Based Zombies.
- The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
- In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
- Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
If the cube does not accept the input, recheck the order, not just the individual shapes. A visually correct set entered in the wrong sequence will not solve the interaction. Also confirm that the earlier pump sequence completed and that the barrel’s quest state was preserved.
6. Complete the acquisition trial
Once the cube symbols are correct, the Necrofluid Gauntlet appears and the final acquisition trial begins in the basement. Destroy the green orbs and the zombies that spawn there. After the basement objective is complete, escape and return to Ol’ Tessie to finish the acquisition.
The trial is not over when the first orb breaks. Continue until the spawned enemies and the required orb destruction are handled, then make the escape and complete the return to Ol’ Tessie. Leaving early or failing to make the return trip means the quest has not been completed even though the Gauntlet has appeared.

Solo mode is supported, but it concentrates every task on one operator. The difference is workload and margin for error, not a separate weapon version or a different reward.

| Consideration | Solo | Co-op |
|---|---|---|
| Task load | One player handles every interaction, escort, defense segment, traversal and fight. | Players can divide movement, defense and objective interactions. |
| Timed travel | The Aether Barrel’s decaying charge must be maintained while one player travels between all three pumps. | Players can share route awareness and combat pressure while the carrier moves. |
| Escort safety | You must direct Klaus and protect the scan without a second player controlling the surrounding threat. | One player can focus on Klaus or the panel while another covers the area. |
| Revive margin | A down or death can interrupt the only active attempt at an objective. | Another player may remain active during a down and help stabilize the encounter. |
| Boss difficulty | Uber Klaus and the later combat checks must be managed without divided attention. | Enemy attention and damage opportunities can be distributed across the team. |
No reliable published statistic establishes an average solo completion time, completion rate or success probability. The evidence supports feasibility, not a guaranteed performance level. PC Gamer describes the later Veytharion boss encounter as hard to pull off solo but not impossible; that comment is a warning about the broader Zombies experience, not a measured Gauntlet completion statistic.
Solo execution checklist
- Reach Round 8 or later so Uber Klaus can spawn at Janus Towers Plaza.
- Confirm that Uber Klaus dropped the Stabilizer Chip before leaving.
- Bring the chip to the Ashwood jail and land three Stun Grenades on Klaus.
- Use the Tactical-equipment command to direct him after activation.
- At Zarya Cosmodrome, send Klaus to the Support Systems control panel and defend the scan.
- Collect the Aether Barrel only after the scan has completed.
- Charge Blackwater Lake, Ashwood and Vandorn Farm while the temporary charge window is active.
- Save Vandorn Farm for last if following PC Gamer’s recommended route.
- Do not use a Jump Pad while carrying the barrel, because it will be dropped.
- At the Vandorn Farm cellar, memorize the three rooftop symbols and reproduce them in the same order on the cube.
- In the basement trial, destroy the green orbs and spawned zombies, then escape and return to Ol’ Tessie.
Common failure points and recovery logic
The chip is missing
The route depends on the Stabilizer Chip dropped by Uber Klaus. Recheck the Janus Towers Plaza encounter and the area around the defeated miniboss before advancing; the chip is the item used to activate Klaus in Ashwood.
Klaus will not follow
Verify the activation sequence: install the Stabilizer Chip, hit Klaus with three Stun Grenades and issue the Tactical-equipment command. Skipping one of those actions can leave the escort state incomplete.
The barrel charge disappears
The charge decays on a timer. Repeat the pump sequence with less delay and use the recommended order, ending at Vandorn Farm. Avoid Jump Pads during the carrying portion, since they make you drop the barrel.
The cube rejects the symbols
Return to the rooftop viewing step and check all three symbols and their order. The solution is based on what you see during the Jump Pad trip toward Janus Towers Plaza; it is not a universal code that can be entered from memory of another match.
The Gauntlet appears but the quest is not complete
Finish the basement trial by destroying the green orbs and the spawned zombies, then escape and return to Ol’ Tessie. The appearance of the weapon signals the trial, not the end of the acquisition sequence.
What you should remember
The solo answer is unambiguous: the Necrofluid Gauntlet is obtainable on Ashes of the Damned without co-op. The critical chain is Uber Klaus, the Aether Barrel, three timed pump charges, the Vandorn Farm rooftop-symbol cube and the basement orb trial. Solo players can complete it, but the decaying barrel charge, the Klaus escort and the final combat sequence leave less room for mistakes than a shared run.
