You can’t use a documented, supported method to install Steam Workshop mods directly on Xbox One. Steam Workshop mods are PC content; the official Xbox sources reviewed do not provide an Xbox One procedure for downloading or sideloading them. Avoid PC file-copy guides presented as Xbox instructions.
Why Steam Workshop mods do not have an Xbox One install path
Steam Workshop delivers mods for the PC version of ARK: Survival Evolved. Xbox Wire’s announcement about bringing official content to Xbox One did not describe a way to install arbitrary Workshop files on the console. The Xbox Store listing confirms the game is available for Xbox One, but it does not include Steam Workshop installation instructions.

Studio Wildcard also explained in a 2017 announcement about the Windows 10 version that mods were unavailable there at the time because that platform lacked a user-generated-content storage and cloud-delivery pipeline equivalent to Steam Workshop. That statement is historical context about the Windows 10 version—not a current policy statement about every platform or proof about every possible workaround.
What the 2016 Xbox announcement actually offered
Xbox Wire’s April 22, 2016 announcement described The Center as an official alternate map planned for Xbox One and PC, and Primitive+ as planned official console content. It said, “Later in the year we will also be bringing Primitive+ to the Xbox as our first official mod on the console.” That dated announcement refers to specific official content; it is not a guide to installing Steam Workshop mods, and it does not establish the current availability of either item.

If you mean official Xbox content instead
Official console content is a different question from installing a Steam Workshop mod. Check the current game menus or Xbox Store listing for the availability of the specific map or content you want. The sources cited here do not establish its current availability or provide current in-game steps.
What not to try
- Do not follow PC instructions for copying Workshop files into game folders as though those steps apply to Xbox One.
- Do not treat an external drive, accessory, or downloaded file as a supported way to install Steam mods; the official sources reviewed describe no such method.
- Do not download purported console mod files from unofficial sites or alter console files based on an unverified tutorial.
Xbox Wire’s 2016 announcement, the Xbox Store listing, and Studio Wildcard’s 2017 Windows 10 announcement provide the platform context; none documents a supported Steam-to-Xbox One mod-install procedure.
