Yes. Finishing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt does not require you to start New Game+. You can pursue more story through the two established expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, or choose New Game+ from the main menu to replay the campaign. Just don’t assume every unfinished side quest will remain available: the official sources do not list which quests can become unavailable as the story advances.
What happens after you finish the main story?
The ending does not force an immediate restart. CD PROJEKT RED’s support page describes New Game+ as an option available from the main menu after the main storyline is complete; it is a replay choice, not a requirement for continuing to explore the game’s additional content. The publisher’s official game page presents Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine as further adventures for Geralt.

There is an important limit to what the official information establishes: it does not explain in detail exactly how the world behaves after the credits or guarantee that every unfinished quest stays open. An older community answer reports that players can pursue side quests and DLC after the main story regardless of which ending they receive, but that is secondary corroboration rather than a current official description. If a character-specific quest matters to you, complete it before making major late-game story decisions.

| Play more Geralt stories | Hearts of Stone or Blood and Wine | CD PROJEKT RED describes both as additional adventures with new characters, locations, and stories. The expansions can be launched separately from the main menu. |
| Replay the main campaign | New Game+ | Available from the main menu after you finish the main storyline. A save from a New Game+ run cannot be used to start another New Game+ run. |
Are the expansions included in the current edition?
As of October 8, 2026, CD PROJEKT RED’s support FAQ says Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are included in the current game offering, with digital storefronts moving to a Complete Edition that includes both. The FAQ also says existing saves remain compatible and the expansions can still be launched separately from the main menu. This does not mean you need to buy the game again to continue an existing save.
