Yes—if you use your phone to manage a cloud service that runs the stream. You can also stream directly from YouTube’s mobile app, but then the phone is sending the live video; YouTube’s mobile guidance does not establish that the app can keep an unattended, prerecorded broadcast going 24/7. The key distinction is whether your phone is the broadcast device or a remote control for a stream running elsewhere.
Choose the workflow that matches what you want to stream
| Workflow | What your phone does | What sends or runs the broadcast | Best fit and limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube mobile app | Creates, schedules, starts, and manages a mobile stream | Your phone or tablet sends the live feed | Good for a person, game session, or event streamed directly from a mobile device. Eligibility applies; YouTube documents mobile streaming and scheduling, not unattended 24/7 operation. |
| Cloud streaming service | Sets up content, a playlist, channel connection, or stream settings | The provider’s cloud infrastructure plays prerecorded content | For a continuous loop of rights-cleared music, ambience, talks, or other video. Features, plan access, duration limits, and recovery terms differ by service. |
| Encoder workflow | Can configure or monitor settings, but is not necessarily the encoder | An encoder sends a live feed using YouTube’s stream URL and key | Useful for camera feeds, overlays, and controlled production. It is not the same as cloud automation; YouTube advises previewing and monitoring the stream. |
YouTube describes mobile streaming as suitable for “vlogging and quick updates from your phone or tablet,” while its overview presents encoders as the more flexible production method. See YouTube’s live-streaming overview.
Stream live from the YouTube app
If you want to broadcast yourself or a live event using the phone’s camera and microphone, use YouTube’s mobile live feature. Check eligibility before you schedule an event; app access is not available to every channel.
Requirements to check
- Your channel must be verified.
- You need at least 50 subscribers.
- Your channel must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days.
- You need a supported phone or tablet.
- First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so do not wait until the event begins to enable the feature.
YouTube’s current steps and eligibility details are on its mobile live-streaming help page.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Create or schedule a mobile stream
- Open the YouTube app and tap the create button, then choose the live-stream option.
- Set the stream details and audience settings. If you want to announce it in advance, choose the scheduling option and select the start time.
- Review the preview, title, visibility, and other stream settings before going live.
- At the scheduled time, open the YouTube app and start the scheduled stream. Keep the phone available as the device sending the live feed.
YouTube documents creating or scheduling mobile streams and starting scheduled streams, but those controls do not turn the app into an unattended 24/7 prerecorded-video loop. The phone remains part of the broadcast workflow. Details can change; check YouTube’s guidance for scheduling a mobile live stream before relying on a particular app flow.
Run prerecorded video continuously from the cloud
For a playlist or prerecorded video that should continue while you put your phone away, use a cloud streaming service. The phone is for setup and management; the service’s infrastructure sends the feed to YouTube. Gyre describes uploading videos, building a playlist, connecting a YouTube channel, and letting its cloud run the stream. OneStream documents creating a 24-hour YouTube stream in its mobile app, but its help page specifies Enterprise access and a maximum duration of 30 days. Those are vendor-described features, not independent uptime guarantees; confirm the current plan and duration terms before paying.

Other cloud-service plan constraints
OneStream’s help documentation, updated September 3, 2026, says its 24-hour YouTube stream feature requires Enterprise access and allows a maximum stream duration of 30 days. Gyre lists a trial and paid tiers with different concurrent-stream and storage limits; consult its current terms before choosing a plan. These providers’ descriptions explain their offerings, but do not establish independent uptime figures.

Use an encoder when you need a production workflow
An encoder is appropriate when you are sending a live camera or other live production to YouTube. It is different from a cloud service looping uploaded video: an encoder sends the feed, while cloud automation can keep prerecorded content running without a computer at home.
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select the stream. Retrieve the server URL and stream key from the stream settings.
- Enter the URL and key in your encoder’s streaming settings. YouTube calls stream keys “like your YouTube stream’s password and address”; do not share the key or include it in screenshots or public messages. See YouTube’s stream settings guidance.
- Configure output to match your source and encoder. The precise bitrate, resolution, and keyframe settings depend on the encoder, video format, and connection; use YouTube’s current recommendations for the selected stream settings rather than copying values meant for a different setup.
- Start the encoder, then check the Live Control Room preview before sending viewers to the stream. YouTube recommends checking the preview and testing the setup; see YouTube’s preparation guidance.
- Monitor the viewer-facing stream and the encoder or service status. A preview at setup time does not establish that an unattended stream will remain healthy indefinitely.
Plan for rights, archives, and continuity
Use content you have permission to stream
Uploading a track or video to a looping service does not grant permission to rebroadcast it. Check that you have the necessary rights for every video and audio item in the playlist, and follow YouTube’s current copyright and live-stream rules. A stream may be interrupted or restricted if its content violates those rules.

Do not assume a 24/7 stream will be archived as one video
YouTube’s encoder guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish the same archive outcome for a stream lasting longer than 12 hours. If you need a recording, keep an independent archive plan rather than relying on YouTube to preserve a long continuous broadcast. See YouTube’s live-stream archiving guidance.
Test the whole path before leaving it unattended
- Confirm the stream appears on the intended YouTube channel and that audio and video play correctly.
- Check that the playlist has the right order and that each item can play through the service.
- Verify how the chosen service reports a dropped YouTube connection and what its recovery behavior is.
- Check the service’s maximum duration, storage, concurrent-stream allowance, and plan requirements before starting a long run.
- Keep the stream key private and use YouTube’s own preview and status tools during setup.
Troubleshoot common setup problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| The YouTube app has no option to go live | The channel may not meet mobile eligibility requirements, or first-time activation may still be processing. | Check verification, subscriber count, recent live-stream restrictions, supported-device status, and allow up to 24 hours for first activation. |
| A scheduled mobile stream does not start by itself | Scheduling creates a planned mobile stream; it does not prove the phone can run an unattended 24/7 prerecorded loop. | Open the YouTube app and start the scheduled stream, or use a cloud service for continuous prerecorded content. |
| The encoder does not connect | The stream URL or key may be incorrect, or the encoder may not be sending a compatible feed. | Recheck the URL and key in Live Control Room and the encoder, keep the key private, and inspect YouTube’s preview before announcing the stream. |
| The cloud stream ends before the intended run is complete | The selected plan may have a maximum duration or other plan limit. | Check the provider’s current duration and plan terms. For OneStream’s documented 24-hour feature, the help page specifies Enterprise access and a 30-day maximum duration. |
| Content is muted, blocked, or interrupted | Rights or YouTube policy issues may affect one or more playlist items. | Confirm permission for every audio and video item and review YouTube’s current rules before restarting. |
| There is no YouTube archive of the full broadcast | YouTube’s cited encoder guidance only says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. | For a longer stream, use an independent recording or archive plan. |
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on; the video streams as uploaded at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot; and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
