Rainbow Six Siege has two current playlists for fighting AI opponents: Enlisted and Field Training. Ubisoft says both can be played solo or with a Squad. The older Versus AI playlist was replaced, so look for the newer playlist names in the game.
Which AI playlist should you choose?
| Playlist | Clearance Level | Setup options | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enlisted | Unlocks at Level 2; available until Level 18 | Guided introductory experience; specific setup controls are not stated by Ubisoft | New players learning the basic flow of Siege |
| Field Training | Unlocks at Level 18 and remains available at Level 18 or above | Customizable AI difficulty, pre-setups, map selection, and the full roster of AI-supported Operators | Players seeking more control over AI practice |
These names, level requirements, and feature descriptions come from Ubisoft’s Operation Daybreak notes. Ubisoft’s roadmap marks the replacement of Versus AI with Enlisted and Field Training as released.

Can you play against AI alone?
Yes. Ubisoft describes Enlisted and Field Training as playable solo or in a Squad, so you do not need to queue against human opponents to use these playlists. If you want to practice with friends, choose the Squad option.
How to find the current AI modes
- Check your Clearance Level. Enlisted becomes available at Level 2 and is for players below Level 18. Field Training becomes available at Level 18.
- Open the in-game training or playlist menu. Look for Enlisted or Field Training rather than Versus AI.
- Choose solo or Squad play. In Field Training, configure the available AI difficulty, pre-setups, and map selection before starting.
If the names or availability shown in your game differ, check the in-game training menu: playlist labels and access can change in this live-service game, and Ubisoft’s published information does not establish identical availability for every platform, region, or account.

What happened to Versus AI?
Versus AI was an earlier playlist name and was replaced during the Siege X onboarding update. Its older features should not be assumed to describe the current playlists. For example, Ubisoft’s Operation Twin Shells description of Versus AI 2.0 covered Beginner and Advanced match modes, eight maps, and switching sides after two rounds; those details describe that historical version, not Enlisted or Field Training today.
The first Versus AI beta, announced with Operation Deep Freeze, also included Beginner and Advanced difficulty and options for solo, Squad, or online play with others. Ubisoft introduced Landmark Drill and Target Drill as separate map-training modes in that update. These are historical launch details, not a current guide to playlist availability or roster.
