Nintendo describes Animal Crossing: New Horizons as available exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch Lite. Nintendo’s official game page does not list a Windows or macOS version.
Playing natively on a PC would mean installing and running an official PC edition. That is different from using a PC as a display for gameplay running on a console; Nintendo’s product pages do not document PC display setups.

The Switch 2 Edition’s mouse controls are a feature of Joy-Con 2 on Nintendo Switch 2; they do not make the game a PC release. Nintendo’s Switch 2 Edition page describes these features and online requirements.

Does Nintendo’s cloud gaming information mean it works on PC?
No. Nintendo’s general cloud versions FAQ explains that cloud-version games stream from a server and require a stable, high-speed internet connection. It does not identify Animal Crossing: New Horizons as a cloud game playable on PC, so the FAQ is not evidence of PC availability.
Can you use emulation instead?
Nintendo’s platform listing establishes its official supported systems, but it does not establish whether a particular emulator works, whether a PC can run one, or whether a specific setup is lawful. What about saves and moving an island?
Animal Crossing: New Horizons does not support Nintendo Switch Online Save Data Cloud functionality. Nintendo provides separate guidance for island backups and console transfers; ordinary cloud saves and PC transfers should not be assumed.
