Ubisoft documented a separate Far Cry 5 free weekend that ran through March 27, 2023. It offered access on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC through Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store. How the confirmed 2023 Far Cry 5 weekend worked
For that event, Xbox players needed Xbox Live Gold, while Ubisoft said PlayStation players did not need PSN+. Ubisoft released Far Cry 6 on October 7, 2021, so it is not an upcoming game to wait for. Ubisoft’s release announcement
Ubisoft also announced Far Cry 6 free access events in 2022 and 2023. The March 24–27, 2022 event offered full-game access on listed consoles and PC storefronts, with progress retention for purchasers.
