Yes—but only in games that specifically support crossplay. TEKKEN 8, Mortal Kombat 1 and THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV connect players across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with the exact PC storefronts and setup requirements varying by game. Mortal Kombat 11 is a useful counterexample: its crossplay does not include PlayStation-to-PC or Steam PC matches.

Which fighting games support PS5, Xbox and PC crossplay?

Game Platforms that can crossplay Important conditions
TEKKEN 8 PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam Bandai Namco confirms online multiplayer crossplay. Its announcement does not specify account-linking or mode-specific requirements. Bandai Namco’s launch announcement is dated January 26, 2024.
Mortal Kombat 1 PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store Nintendo Switch is not included. A linked WB Games Account, the crossplay patch and enabled Krossplay are required. PC players must meet the game’s online benchmark to use cross-platform matchmaking against console players. WB Games support lists the setup and benchmark requirements.
THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Windows 10, Steam and Epic Games Store SNK’s crossplay notice lists these platforms but does not detail account or lobby procedures.
Mortal Kombat 11 PlayStation and Xbox consoles; Xbox and the Microsoft Store Windows version It does not support PlayStation-to-PC or Steam PC crossplay. Its support FAQ describes crossplay around Kasual play and designated rooms. See WB Games’ Mortal Kombat 11 crossplay FAQ.

These examples show why “PC” is not a single compatibility category: the PC version may need to come from a particular store, and a game may connect some console-PC combinations but not others. Check the supported platforms for the exact game and storefront before buying or arranging a match.

How to enable crossplay in Mortal Kombat 1

  1. Install the crossplay patch and link your WB Games Account to the account you use on your console or PC.
  2. From the main menu, go to Settings > Online > Enable Krossplay and turn it on.
  3. Use a supported mode: Ranked Kombat League, Kasual Versus matchmaking, King of the Hill lobbies, or private matches and invites through the WB Games friends list.

WB Games says PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass Core is required for online multiplayer on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. Those subscriptions are not required simply to play Mortal Kombat 1 offline on those consoles. Requirements and menu labels can change with updates; consult the current WB Games support instructions if your options differ.

Can PS5 and Xbox players play together? Can PC play with console?

Yes, in the listed crossplay games—but compatibility is title-specific. TEKKEN 8 and Mortal Kombat 1 explicitly include PS5, Xbox Series X|S and supported PC versions. THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV lists those current consoles as well as PS4 and several PC versions. For Mortal Kombat 11, Xbox console crossplay does not mean that PlayStation or every PC storefront is included.

Also distinguish crossplay from cross-progression. Crossplay lets people on different platforms play together; cross-progression carries eligible progress between platforms. WB Games says Mortal Kombat 1 supports both on its listed platforms, with a linked WB Games Account required.

What to check before inviting a friend

  • Exact platform: Confirm console generation and PC store. A game may support Xbox Series X|S but not an older Xbox version, or a Microsoft Store PC version but not Steam.
  • Settings and account: Find out whether crossplay must be enabled and whether players need to link a publisher account.
  • Mode: Crossplay may work in matchmaking, private matches or lobbies differently. Check the specific mode you plan to use.
  • PC requirements: Some games impose performance or benchmark conditions on PC players seeking console matches; Mortal Kombat 1 is one example.
