Gran Turismo Sport has no official PC release. The fan-made RyGT project can run the PS4 executable as a Windows program, but it is unfinished, requires files extracted from a game and PS4 firmware you own, and does not provide online racing. A showcase using an RTX 5090 and Ryzen 9 9950X3D demonstrates enthusiast-class hardware, not a guaranteed 4K/60 FPS result for every RyGT build.
What RyGT actually is
Sony never ported Gran Turismo Sport to Windows. RyGT is an unofficial community project that converts the PS4 executable into a Windows application. Instead of emulating an entire PS4 in the conventional way, it uses the project’s shadGT translation layer and Vulkan rendering.

Reports published in October 2026 describe a playable build with race events, graphics settings and controller support through SDL. The package does not contain Gran Turismo Sport itself. You must supply the game data and system components from your own console and disc or digital license, subject to the laws that apply where you live.

Required game and firmware data
- A decrypted Gran Turismo Sport PS4 dump identified as
CUSA03220. - Update 1.69 applied to that dump.
- The PS4 system modules required by the project, supplied by the user.
- A Windows PC with Vulkan-capable graphics drivers.
- A controller or wheel recognized through the input support exposed by the build. SDL controller support has been reported; no particular wheel model has been validated.
RyGT’s download is therefore not a turnkey installer. Missing, encrypted or mismatched files are the most likely causes of an immediate launch failure. Keep a clean backup of your legally obtained dump and follow the release’s exact file-layout instructions, because unfinished builds can change their expectations.

How the 4K/60 FPS showcase should be read
Reported performance
| Reported setup or test | Result | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| RTX 4070 Ti with Core i7-13700KF | Approximately 42–60 FPS in races | Performance varies with the number of cars and scene complexity |
| RTX 3060 with Ryzen 5 9600X | Approximately 42–60 FPS in reported races | A midrange GPU can reach playable rates in some scenes, but not a locked target everywhere |
| Experimental renderer, 20-car rainy Tokyo Expressway test | About 32–43 FPS | Heavy weather, reflections and traffic can cause large drops |
| One shader-compilation test | 13,600 pipelines in about 25 seconds | Initial compilation can be substantial but is finite on that test system |
| PS5/PS4 Pro version (GTPlanet, 2020) | 4K at 60 FPS | A console performance reference, not a measurement of RyGT on an RTX 5090 |
The RTX 5090 and Ryzen 9 9950X3D shown in the showcase are substantially newer enthusiast hardware than the systems in the published RyGT reports. No verified benchmark in the available material measures that exact combination, so the video should not be treated as proof that every track, weather condition or grid size will hold native 4K at 60 FPS.
Why the frame rate and image can change
- Car count and scene complexity: More opponents, reflections and track detail increase the rendering load.
- Shader compilation: The opening portion of a race can stutter while pipelines are compiled. Precompilation and the build’s selectable compilation modes can reduce interruptions after the first run.
- FSR 3.1 frame generation: Generated frames can raise the displayed frame count, but the game does not provide the motion vectors normally used by the technique. Ghosting and other temporal artifacts are therefore possible. A higher counter reading is not the same as equivalent native-rendered frames.
What you cannot do in RyGT
Online racing is unavailable. Sony ended Gran Turismo Sport’s online services on 31 January 2024, so a Windows port cannot restore the original matchmaking, lobbies or other server-dependent features. RyGT is best understood as an offline way to run supported race content, not as a replacement for the game’s former network ecosystem.

- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
How the alternatives compare
| Option | Official status | Setup burden | Coverage and limitations |
|---|---|---|---|
| Play Gran Turismo Sport on PS4 or PS5 | Official | Lowest; use the console version | Supported console experience; GT Sport online services ended in 2024 |
| RyGT on Windows | Unofficial fan project | High; decrypted CUSA03220 data, update 1.69 and PS4 modules are required | Offline PC execution with developing compatibility, Vulkan rendering and possible shader or frame-generation artifacts |
| PCSX2 or RPCS3 | Documented emulation routes for older Gran Turismo games | Varies by game and dump | These projects concern earlier Gran Turismo releases, not an official GT Sport PC port |
| PS Remote Play | Official Sony feature | Requires an owned PS5, network connection and compatible client | Streams the console version to a PC; image quality and latency depend on the network |
Troubleshooting the common problems
The program will not start
- Confirm that the dump is decrypted and matches
CUSA03220. - Verify that update 1.69 is applied rather than an older or mixed-region build.
- Check that every required PS4 system module is present in the location expected by your RyGT release.
- Update the GPU’s Vulkan driver and remove partial files from an earlier installation before trying again.
Races stutter after loading
Allow shader compilation to finish, then repeat the event. Use the project’s precompilation option or a less interruption-prone compilation mode when available. The first pass can be worse than later runs because newly encountered effects still need pipelines.
The counter says 60 FPS but the picture looks wrong
Disable FSR 3.1 frame generation and compare native rendering. Missing motion vectors can produce ghost trails, particularly around cars, fencing and fast camera movement. Frame generation is an optional smoothness trade-off, not a fix for insufficient base performance.

Bottom line
RyGT is the first credible route to running Gran Turismo Sport directly on Windows, but it is neither a Sony release nor a finished PC port. Its reported 42–60 FPS range, experimental 32–43 FPS rainy-grid result and frame-generation caveats show why performance depends on the scene. The RTX 5090/Ryzen 9 9950X3D showcase is an impressive demonstration of available headroom, yet anyone attempting it still needs legally obtained PS4 data and firmware, must accept offline-only play, and should expect ongoing compatibility and shader-compilation issues.
