What the official support information says
Rockstar’s controller troubleshooting article discusses controllers and recommends trying official Microsoft or Sony controllers. It does not confirm steering-wheel support for GTA V. The careful conclusion is that native G920 support is not documented in the official materials reviewed—not that every possible configuration has been proven impossible.
Logitech’s G920 product documentation identifies the wheel as compatible with Xbox and PC. That describes the wheel’s platform compatibility; it does not mean every game on those platforms recognizes it as a wheel.
PC: a community workaround is possible, not guaranteed
The community-maintained GTAVManualTransmission project documentation describes configuring analog steering, throttle, and brake inputs for GTA V. This is an unofficial route, not a Rockstar-supported feature or a plug-and-play guarantee. Setup and results can depend on the tool version, game build, and configuration.

The available documentation does not establish dependable force feedback or consistent compatibility across current PC setups. If you try the workaround, follow the project’s own instructions and expect to troubleshoot rather than assume the wheel will work as soon as it is connected.
Xbox: compatible hardware does not guarantee game support
Although Logitech lists the G920 as an Xbox-compatible wheel, the official materials reviewed do not establish native G920 steering-wheel support in GTA V on Xbox. Avoid treating an adapter or other third-party console peripheral as a guaranteed fix. Rockstar says that hardware or software not officially licensed and authorized by the console manufacturer is not supported by Rockstar Support: Rockstar’s peripheral-support statement.

What Logitech Gaming Software can—and cannot—do
On PC, Logitech’s G920/G29 settings guide explains how to adjust wheel sensitivity, pedal sensitivity, and operating range in Logitech Gaming Software. It gives a 900-degree default operating range, adjustable from 40 to 900 degrees in 10-degree increments. These are wheel settings; they do not add GTA V support if the game or an input workaround does not recognize the wheel.

Should you buy a G920 for GTA 5?
Do not buy the G920 expecting plug-and-play steering-wheel support in GTA V. It may still be a fit if you also want it for other racing games that support the wheel, but GTA V compatibility should be treated as uncertain—especially on Xbox. Logitech’s configuration guide is useful for adjusting the wheel on PC, while the GTA V input route described by the community project remains unofficial.
