Rockstar has not confirmed that every Halloween activity, including the featured Slasher modes and Ludendorff Cemetery Survival, can be launched in an Invite Only Session.
Which Halloween activities can you play privately?
Rockstar’s support guidance applies specifically to Freemode Events: they are available in private sessions, though some need a minimum number of participants. It does not establish that every activity marketed as Halloween content uses the same session rules.
Rockstar’s October 1, 2026 announcement lists Slasher modes in the Featured Series, including a Ramius submarine variant, and the return of Ludendorff Cemetery Survival. The announcement does not say whether those activities can be started in an Invite Only Session. Check the activity’s launch options in-game rather than assuming that the Freemode Event rule covers them. How to start an Invite Only Session
- Enter Story Mode.
- Open the Pause Menu and select Online.
- Choose Find New Session.
- Select Invite Only Session. The game will prompt you to leave your current session, then load a new private one.
Rockstar’s support guide says you must be in Story Mode to start a new Invite Only Session. Accessing a new Invite Only Session

Why a Freemode Event might not start
Private-session availability does not mean an event can run solo or with any group size. Rockstar says participant minimums vary by Freemode Event. Its example, Hunt the Beast, requires at least 10 players in the session. Freemode Events Information for GTA Online Rockstar separately states that Time Trials are unavailable in private or solo sessions, another reason not to treat all Online activities alike.

- If a Freemode Event does not begin, check whether enough players are in the session for that particular event.
- If the activity is a Featured Series mode or Survival, use its in-game launch options to see whether it can be started privately; the cited Rockstar event announcement does not specify Invite Only availability for those activities.
