Yes. You can play downloaded base-game songs in Just Dance on Nintendo Switch without an internet connection. Download the songs while online first; Just Dance+ tracks and online multiplayer require internet. Ubisoft’s published limit of up to 40 offline songs is specifically for Just Dance 2024 Edition, not a confirmed limit for the 2026 edition.
How to prepare Just Dance for offline play
- Connect your Switch to the internet and open Just Dance.
- Download the base-game songs you want to play while offline, using the game’s download option.
- Check that the downloads are complete before disconnecting. Ubisoft notes that some map versions may not be downloadable because of limited download space.
Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2024 Edition FAQ says players can download up to 40 songs for offline play. That is the published guidance for the 2024 edition; Ubisoft’s 2025 announcement for Just Dance 2026 Edition does not state whether the same cap applies.

Which songs work offline?
Downloaded base-game songs
Base-game maps downloaded in advance are the content to rely on offline. Make sure the tracks you want are actually downloaded before you lose access to the internet.
Just Dance+ songs
Just Dance+ maps cannot be downloaded for offline play. Ubisoft says the Just Dance+ catalog requires an internet connection, so a subscription does not make those tracks available when you are disconnected. See Ubisoft’s online requirements for Just Dance games.

Offline play versus multiplayer
| How you want to play | Internet needed? | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Play downloaded base-game songs locally | No, once the songs are downloaded | Offline downloads are for base-game maps; the 2024 FAQ gives a limit of up to 40 songs. |
| Play Just Dance+ songs | Yes | The catalog requires internet, and its maps cannot be downloaded for offline use. |
| Play online multiplayer | Yes | Ubisoft’s current guidance lists a linked Ubisoft account and an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription for Switch multiplayer. |
| Play locally with others | No, for downloaded songs | Ubisoft says the 2026 edition supports up to six local players using Joy-Con controllers on Switch. |
Ubisoft’s October 2025 announcement describes the 2026 edition’s local multiplayer, which is distinct from online multiplayer. Its mention of up to six local players does not establish the number of offline songs available in that edition.

- Leave room for downloads: some map versions may be unavailable because of storage limits.
- Do not expect Just Dance+ content or online groups and multiplayer to work offline.
- If you have Just Dance 2026 Edition, do not assume its offline-song limit matches the 2024 edition’s published figure; Ubisoft has not specified that limit in the cited 2026 announcement.
