Can you play Mario on Xbox?
Not through a supported route shown in the official Nintendo and Xbox information linked here. Nintendo’s Mario game catalog lists games for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch systems. Xbox Cloud Gaming streams supported Xbox titles; its service page does not identify a Nintendo Mario game as playable there.

This answer is about the official platform and service listings, not a claim about every possible game, emulator, or future catalog change. A Game Pass subscription, Xbox controller, or streaming device does not by itself make a Nintendo Mario game available to install or run on Xbox.
What can you use to play Mario?
Use the Nintendo system supported by the specific game you want. Nintendo’s catalog includes games for both Switch 2 and Switch, so check the product listing rather than assuming every Mario title works on the same system.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park is listed for Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo gives its release date as March 26, 2026, and lists handheld, TV, and tabletop play modes. Check the game listing for the edition’s current details.
Check the edition before buying
Nintendo also lists Super Mario Bros. Wonder for Nintendo Switch. The system and edition matter: confirm the product page says it supports the console you own before purchasing.

Does Xbox Cloud Gaming or Game Pass help?
Xbox Cloud Gaming is for supported Xbox games, not a general way to stream any game to an Xbox or other device. Availability depends on the supported title, region, device, and plan, and Xbox says its game catalog can vary over time and by region, plan, and platform. Check the current Xbox Cloud Gaming page for what is available to you; it does not provide a supported route to Nintendo’s Mario games.
What about multiplayer accessories?
Accessory needs depend on the game and how you plan to play. Nintendo’s Switch listing for Super Mario Bros. Wonder says additional accessories may be required for multiplayer and are sold separately. Check the selected game’s player count, mode, and accessory requirements; an extra controller is not automatically required for every setup.

- Want a Nintendo Mario game: choose a compatible Switch or Switch 2 system, then verify the exact game edition and its requirements.
- Want to keep playing on Xbox: choose from Xbox’s supported game catalog. Cloud Gaming access depends on the game, device, region, and plan.
- Deciding whether to buy a Nintendo system: consider whether you want handheld, TV, or tabletop play, and include the game and any accessories its listing says you need.
