Monster Hunter Wilds was announced for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on February 28, 2025, but Capcom’s announcement did not confirm GeForce NOW availability on launch day. NVIDIA later named the full game among titles playable through GeForce NOW on Steam Deck. The old claim that handheld players are left out is therefore outdated; whether the full game is available to you now depends on the live catalog for your region and supported store.
What is known about Monster Hunter Wilds and GeForce NOW?
Capcom announced Monster Hunter Wilds for release on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Capcom’s announcement). It did not state whether the full game would be on GeForce NOW on release day, so the announcement alone cannot establish that it was absent from the service at launch.
NVIDIA later listed Monster Hunter Wilds among games playable on GeForce NOW in its Steam Deck app announcement. That establishes a later supported-play context, not guaranteed availability in every region or store library today. NVIDIA’s September 3, 2026 update specifically names “Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue Demo (Steam)” among games added in August. The demo listing does not prove that the full game was removed or that it is available everywhere; NVIDIA cautions that game availability can vary as titles are onboarded.
For a decision now, search the live GeForce NOW app or catalog for the full game and confirm that the listing matches your region and the store where you own it. Do not treat the Prologue Demo entry as confirmation of full-game access.

How GeForce NOW access works
GeForce NOW streams supported PC games rather than granting ownership of them. NVIDIA says Install-to-Play titles require publisher opt-in to Steam Cloud Gaming, and the digital store verifies that you own a game (GeForce NOW games catalog; GeForce NOW FAQ). A PC version or a Steam purchase alone does not guarantee that a particular title can be launched through the service: the relevant game and store option must be supported in your catalog.
- Open the GeForce NOW app or website for your region and search for the full game, not just the Prologue Demo.
- Check which store version the listing supports, then make sure you own Monster Hunter Wilds through that store.
- Sign in to the relevant store account when prompted so ownership can be verified.
- If no compatible full-game listing appears, do not assume the demo entry, another region’s listing or a different store version will work.
Can you play it on Steam Deck?
Yes, GeForce NOW has an official Steam Deck app route, and NVIDIA’s later announcement named Monster Hunter Wilds among playable titles. That makes cloud streaming a potential way to play on the handheld; it does not make the Steam Deck’s local hardware run the PC game, nor does it guarantee that the full game is currently in your regional catalog.

NVIDIA’s published setup path is to download and install the app from Steam Deck Desktop Mode, then return to Gaming Mode and launch it from the Steam Library under Non-Steam games. What NVIDIA’s streaming figures do—and do not—promise
NVIDIA said Steam Deck streaming can reach up to 4K at 60 frames per second when the Deck is connected to a TV, with HDR10, DLSS 4 and Reflex on supported titles. Those are NVIDIA’s stated service capabilities, not an independent test of Monster Hunter Wilds on a Deck. They do not promise a specific resolution, frame rate, latency, battery life or image quality for your game session; results depend on supported features and the service, network and device conditions.

In that same 2025 announcement, NVIDIA cited more than 2,200 supported games and more than 180 supported PC Game Pass titles. It also claimed up to 50% longer battery life while streaming from an RTX gaming rig in the cloud. These are vendor figures and a vendor comparison, not guarantees for an individual Deck owner or a Monster Hunter Wilds session.
How to choose between cloud streaming and local play
GeForce NOW can make a supported PC game accessible on a Steam Deck without relying on the handheld to render it locally. Before choosing that route, check the practical differences below.

A Steam Deck OLED is still a handheld PC: owning one does not ensure that the full game is currently listed for your GeForce NOW region or store. Verify catalog support before buying hardware or subscribing solely to play this title.

In June 2026, Capcom said it was developing Monster Hunter Wilds for Nintendo Switch 2 and scheduled the paid expansion Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance for 2027 (Capcom’s announcement). That announcement did not supply a Switch 2 launch date. It is separate from GeForce NOW availability: development for Switch 2 does not confirm a cloud listing or a release timetable on that service.

Does the series sales figure refer to Wilds?
No. Capcom reported that cumulative sales for the entire Monster Hunter series exceeded 103 million units as of June 30, 2024. That dated series-wide total is not sales of Monster Hunter Wilds, which had not yet reached its announced February 2025 release date.
