No. Rainbow Six Siege’s Dual Front playlist was removed at the beginning of Year 11 Season 2, so it is no longer a way to start playing. When it launched with Siege X in June 2025, it offered newcomers a different 6v6 format and was included in Siege Free Access. Whether it was the “perfect” introduction is a matter of taste; the available facts show what made it distinctive, but do not establish that it was easier or better for learning Siege.
What Dual Front was
Ubisoft introduced Dual Front with Siege X on June 10, 2025, for current-generation consoles and PC. Two teams of six Operators competed to attack sectors controlled by the other team while defending their own. That combined offense-and-defense objective was the mode’s defining difference from Siege’s core 5v5 format. Ubisoft’s Siege X and Year 10 roadmap announcement also said Dual Front was included in Siege Free Access at launch, alongside Quick Match and Unranked.
Was it a good way to start playing Siege?
It was a distinct option for trying Siege without buying a paid edition at launch, but that alone does not make it a better learning mode. Its 6v6 teams and sector objectives gave it a different structure from core Siege. Ubisoft’s description does not establish that Dual Front was easier, more forgiving, or more effective for learning the game’s fundamentals, so those claims should not be assumed.
Why Dual Front is no longer available
Ubisoft designated Year 11 Season 1 as Dual Front’s final season and said the playlist would be removed at the start of Year 11 Season 2. The roadmap, updated September 8, 2026, lists Year 11 Season 3 as the latest release and refers to the Year 11 Season 1 feature as the “Dual Front Final Assignment.” As of October 8, 2026, the mode is no longer playable.

Ubisoft said it was ending Dual Front to refocus on Siege’s core 5v5 gameplay and Ranked, while bringing technology developed for Dual Front into the game. Its explanation does not attribute the decision to player reception or low engagement. Ubisoft’s Operation Silent Hunt announcement covered the final season and farewell.

Dual Front’s last season included a stealth-focused Neutral Sector assignment called Malware Containment. Players pursued an access key; its holder had to shut down five active antennas before the opposing team, could not use weapons, and had to rely on gadgets. Ubisoft also described changes for that final season: all supported Operators were available, every playable Operator received an additional secondary gadget, objective progress was retained, and more objective locations were added. These were features of the final season, not options in a currently playable playlist.
