Yes. Roblox is available as a free app on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. You need an internet connection and a Roblox account; Roblox also says child Xbox profiles need parent permission to launch the app. The Xbox listing describes the game as free with in-app purchases.
Which Xbox consoles support Roblox?
Roblox lists Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S as supported consoles. Its October 10, 2023 console announcement names those Xbox models. The Xbox Store listing offers the Roblox app as Free+ with in-app purchases.
If you already own one of those consoles, you can search for Roblox in the Xbox Store and install it. Roblox’s support instructions say an Xbox One console and internet connection are needed to play; the Store listing also says a network connection is required. Roblox’s play instructions mention Xbox Live Gold, but that requirement may be outdated, so check current Xbox subscription terms rather than assuming a paid subscription is necessary.
How to install Roblox and sign in
- Open the Xbox Store, search for Roblox, and install the free app.
- Launch Roblox. Choose Create Account to create and link a Roblox account, or Sign In to link an account you already have.
- If you need to use a different Xbox profile, select the signed-in Xbox gamertag in the app to switch profiles.
- If the Xbox profile is a child account, a parent must allow Roblox through the Xbox Family account before the app can launch.

Can Xbox players play Roblox with friends on other devices?
Yes. Roblox supports cross-platform play, so Xbox players can join available experiences with friends on PC, Mac, and mobile. To meet up with a particular friend, use Roblox’s instructions for joining friends to coordinate entry into the same experience. Cross-platform support does not mean every experience or feature is necessarily available on every device.
What Roblox features work differently on Xbox?
The Xbox app does not include every Roblox account feature. Roblox says you can create or join groups and add Roblox friends on PC, Mac, or mobile instead. On Xbox, you can see your online Xbox friends and create an Xbox party. See Roblox’s Xbox feature guide for the supported options.

- Chat: Supported experiences provide chat features. Roblox’s Xbox support page discusses Experience chat and Voice Chat; access depends on Roblox’s rules and eligibility.
- Text entry: You can use the Xbox on-screen keyboard. A USB or Bluetooth keyboard is an optional alternative, not a requirement.
Do you need to pay to play Roblox on Xbox?
The Roblox app is free to download, but the Xbox Store listing notes in-app purchases. Roblox’s support page says Xbox Live Gold is required, but that wording may no longer reflect current Xbox policy. The sources available here do not establish whether a paid Xbox subscription is currently required for Roblox multiplayer; check Microsoft’s current Xbox subscription rules before subscribing just for Roblox.
