In College Football 27, Dynasty advances through a weekly calendar, and you can let the CPU handle substantial recruiting, staff, facilities and blueprint work. EA’s published Dynasty materials do not document a control that automatically plays every scheduled game for an entire season. You must advance the calendar week by week and deal with whatever user decisions or game prompts remain.
The separate Simulation option mentioned in the July 2026 update is not a season simulator. It sets coach progression to balanced growth at 1.25× XP.

What “simulate a season” means in College Football 27
Players use “simulation” to describe several different actions, so the answer depends on what you want the CPU to do. Dynasty supports automated management, simulated practice results and weekly advancement. Those features reduce hands-on work, but they are not the same as a documented command to resolve every game on the schedule.
| What you want to automate | What the documented Dynasty systems do | What they do not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Program administration | Blueprint, support-staff, facilities and recruiting tasks can be assigned to CPU-controlled automation. | They do not state that every game is automatically played or resolved. |
| Practice preparation | You can use simulated practice results and advance the week. If you make no changes, the team uses a safe, balanced default approach. | Practice simulation is not a full-season game simulation. |
| Calendar progression | Dynasty moves through preseason, regular season, bowl season and offseason one week at a time. | EA does not document a “simulate all weeks” or “simulate entire season” button. |
| Coach progression | The July 2026 update’s Simulation setting gives balanced coach progression at 1.25× XP. | That setting does not determine game outcomes or skip a season. |
EA describes Dynasty as a program-building experience across the entire calendar. That framing matters: the mode is designed around repeated weekly decisions and multi-year consequences rather than a single season-resolution screen.

Where to start: Dynasty is the season mode
Open Game Modes > Dynasty from the main menu. Dynasty is the relevant mode for running a college program over a complete year and carrying its results into future seasons. When creating or joining a Dynasty, EA lets you select one of three coaching roles:
- Head Coach: responsibility for the whole program.
- Offensive Coordinator: an offense-focused role within the program.
- Defensive Coordinator: a defense-focused role within the program.
After you enter the Dynasty, the calendar is divided into four broad phases. The exact weekly prompts can vary with your role and settings, but the progression is consistent:
Preseason
Preseason establishes the year ahead. You set up the program, review the roster and begin the systems that will carry into the regular season. This is the point to decide which responsibilities you want to keep manually and which you want the CPU to handle.

The regular season is the main weekly loop. Recruiting and roster-building work occur alongside practice planning, games and other program decisions. You advance one week at a time rather than jumping directly to the final standings.

- Hit Everything 2.0 gives your teammates greater situational awareness, allowing them to push the pile and gain ground to attack the football more effectively.
Bowl season
After the regular schedule, bowl-season activities continue the calendar. EA’s Dynasty overview also places the coaching carousel in this phase, so staff and job-related decisions can still require attention even when routine management is automated.
Offseason
The offseason handles the transition to the next year. Budget refreshes and roster-retention work are part of this phase, so ending the regular season does not end the Dynasty’s management cycle.
How to let the CPU handle most of a season
The closest documented approach to a low-intervention season is to enable Dynasty’s Blueprint automation, then advance the calendar. Use this setup when you want to preserve Dynasty progression and history while reducing repetitive decisions.
Recommended Free Tools
- From the main menu, choose Game Modes > Dynasty.
- Select Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator or Defensive Coordinator, then create or join a Dynasty.
- Open the Dynasty settings and find the Blueprint Auto Settings.
- Enable Full Blueprint Management if you want the CPU to manage the broader blueprint plan.
- Enable Auto Support Staff to delegate support-staff decisions.
- Enable Auto Facilities to let the CPU handle facility-related management.
- Enable Auto Recruiting if you want recruiting to follow the selected Blueprint Strategy.
- Return to the weekly calendar. Review any decisions that remain assigned to you, then choose the control to advance the week.
- Repeat the weekly advance through the regular season, bowl season and offseason. Check the calendar after each advance for prompts that the automation does not cover.
When you advance without changing a practice plan, EA says the team is still managed with a safe and balanced default approach. That makes unattended advancement practical for routine weeks, but it does not guarantee that every decision, matchup or prompt will be resolved without input.

What each automation setting covers
| Setting | CPU responsibility | Practical effect |
|---|---|---|
| Full Blueprint Management | The broader program blueprint and its associated management choices. | Reduces manual program-planning work. |
| Auto Support Staff | Support-staff decisions. | Keeps staffing administration moving while you focus elsewhere. |
| Auto Facilities | Facility-management decisions. | Delegates facilities work rather than skipping the calendar. |
| Auto Recruiting | Recruiting actions based on the selected Blueprint Strategy. | Allows recruiting to continue without weekly manual targeting. |
| Simulated practice results | Practice outcomes for the current week. | Provides a quick practice result; it is not a result for the scheduled game. |
These controls automate management scope, not necessarily game-outcome scope. Turning on every listed option does not change the documented weekly structure into a confirmed whole-season simulation mode.
Can the CPU play every game for you?
EA’s official pages explain weekly advancement and the management systems above, but they do not document a command that simulates every scheduled game in an entire season automatically. They also do not explicitly confirm or deny a separate one-season mode or a one-button full-season game simulation.
That distinction is important when planning an unattended Dynasty. You can reasonably expect to advance weeks with much of the administration delegated. You should not describe the result as a confirmed “CPU plays the whole season” feature unless EA adds a specific control and documents it. Any game-related prompt or user-controlled decision that appears during advancement may still need your input.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIf your goal is to see a final record quickly
Use the automation settings above and advance each week, checking for unresolved prompts. This is the documented low-intervention route. It preserves the Dynasty’s normal calendar and progression instead of creating a separate abridged season.

If your goal is to make every on-field decision yourself
Leave the relevant management areas under manual control and use the weekly calendar normally. Automation is optional; it is not required to complete a Dynasty season.
If your goal is to test long-term program changes
Automation can reduce repetitive recruiting, staff and facilities work while you observe how the program develops. Keep in mind that the Dynasty is multi-year, so a single season is only one entry in a much larger history.

The word Simulation appears in the July 2026 update notes with a specific progression meaning. It is the balanced coach-progression option, set to 1.25× XP. In other words, it changes how quickly a coach earns experience relative to the standard progression behavior.
It does not mean:
- Simulating the current game schedule.
- Skipping all weekly calendar screens.
- Automatically resolving recruiting, staff, facilities and roster decisions.
- Jumping from preseason to the final standings.
Choose that setting for the progression pace you want, not because you expect it to simulate a season. Season-length automation is controlled by the weekly Dynasty workflow and its Auto Settings, not by this XP option.

What to check while advancing week by week
Even with automation enabled, a hands-off season benefits from occasional checks. Use this checklist when you advance:
- Practice: confirm whether a practice plan was applied or whether the safe, balanced default was used.
- Recruiting: verify that Auto Recruiting is enabled and tied to the Blueprint Strategy you intended.
- Staff and facilities: check that Auto Support Staff and Auto Facilities remain active.
- Role-specific prompts: look for choices that belong to your selected coaching role.
- Calendar phase: remember that bowl season and offseason introduce different decisions from the regular season.
- Advancement status: make sure the week actually advanced before leaving the screen.
If the calendar stops, do not assume that automation failed. First inspect the current screen for a decision the CPU settings do not cover. The published workflow is still weekly, so a prompt can legitimately interrupt an otherwise automated run.
How Dynasty records the completed year
Dynasty is built for repeated seasons rather than a disposable one-year experiment. EA says Season History tracks every season across a 30-year Dynasty. For each team, the history records:
- Final media ranking
- Overall record
- Conference record
- Conference standing
- Conference championships
- Bowl results
That history gives you a way to evaluate an automated year after the calendar reaches the offseason. It also explains why the documented system emphasizes advancing through each phase: the results feed a continuing program record instead of ending at a single simulated-season summary.
Bottom line for different play styles
| Your priority | Best documented approach | Level of control |
|---|---|---|
| Finish a year with minimal administration | Enable Blueprint, support-staff, facilities and recruiting automation, then advance weekly. | CPU handles many management tasks; you still monitor prompts. |
| Control the program but skip repetitive work | Turn on only the Auto Settings for areas you do not want to manage. | Mixed manual and CPU control. |
| Play or manage every decision | Leave automation off and work through the calendar manually. | Full user control. |
| Increase coach XP progression speed | Select the July 2026 update’s Simulation progression option. | Affects XP pace, not season simulation. |
So, can you simulate an entire season in College Football 27? You can automate much of Dynasty and move through the complete program year by advancing its weekly calendar. EA’s documentation does not establish a one-click feature that automatically simulates every game in the season, and the Simulation XP setting is unrelated to that question.
