Yes. The current World of Warcraft Live database still lists Seth’s Graphite Fishing Pole as a reward from Rather Be Fishin’, a quest given by Seth in Shattrath City. To complete it, kill Shimmerscale Eels near Silmyr Lake and loot eight Pristine Shimmerscale Eels; you do not catch them with a fishing rod.
How to get Seth’s Graphite Fishing Pole
- Find Seth in Shattrath City and accept Rather Be Fishin’. The current quest listing describes the task and reward: Wowhead’s Rather Be Fishin’ quest record.
- Travel northeast to Silmyr Lake. The linked quest guide places the eel area at approximately 39.5, 9.2: Wowhead’s quest guide.
- Kill Shimmerscale Eels and loot eight Pristine Shimmerscale Eels. The objective is a kill-and-loot task, despite the word “Fishin’” in the quest name.
- Return to Seth in Shattrath City and turn in the quest. The listed reward is Seth’s Graphite Fishing Pole.
What the fishing pole does
Wowhead’s current item record lists Seth’s Graphite Fishing Pole as a fishing tool that grants +10 Fishing Skill and requires Outland Fishing (1): Seth’s Graphite Fishing Pole item record. These are the Live-record details; do not assume the same item values apply to a Classic version.
If the quest is not available
The current quest record does not establish definitive character-level, faction, or prerequisite rules. Check your quest journal and your character’s in-game quest eligibility rather than relying on old player comments as proof of a current requirement.
How certain is its current availability?
The current Live database records list both the quest reward and its item details, which supports saying that the reward route remains listed. They are not a first-hand confirmation of completing the quest in a live game, nor a Blizzard statement; in-game availability for a particular character may depend on eligibility that the records do not resolve.
