Legendary Cores are tradeable Mods in Warframe. You can exchange one through a Clan Dojo Trading Post or Maroo’s Bazaar. The Warframe Wiki lists a 1,000,000-Credit trading tax for each Legendary Core. Both players should have enough Credits for the tax shown in the trade window, and the trade cannot complete until both sides review and confirm the final offer.
A Legendary Core is consumed when used: it instantly raises one eligible Mod to maximum rank without spending Endo or Credits. Whether trading or using it is better depends on the offer you can obtain, the Endo and Credits your target Mod would require, your backlog of unranked Mods, and whether you currently need Platinum or another item.

What a Legendary Core is
A consumable Mod, not a resource
The Legendary Core appears in Warframe’s Mods collection. It is a special consumable Mod that performs a complete rank-up operation immediately. When applied to an eligible Mod, it takes that Mod to its maximum rank without consuming Endo or the Credits normally charged for fusion.

Because it is a Mod, the Core is placed in the Mods section of the trade interface. It does not appear under ordinary resource categories, and you do not trade it from the Arsenal’s equipment screens. If you cannot find it while preparing an offer, switch to the Mods category in the trade window and search your collection there.

Why players value one
Max-ranking an expensive Mod can require a large Endo reserve and a substantial Credit payment. A Core converts that entire upgrade into one consumable item. Its value is therefore personal as well as commercial: a player with several high-cost Mods waiting to be ranked may save more by using the Core than by accepting a weak trade offer.
How rare are Legendary Cores?
Community records based on Warframe’s official drop-table repository list very low chances for the two commonly cited sources. The figures below are attributed to the Warframe Wiki and were recorded on its 2026 page; mission tables can change, so check the live official table before treating them as current.
| Source | Recorded Legendary Core chance | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Archon Hunt | 0.18% | Warframe Wiki figure recorded in 2026 from the official drop-table repository; verify the live table because mission rewards can change. |
| Sortie | 0.19% | Warframe Wiki figure recorded in 2026 from the official drop-table repository; verify the live table because mission rewards can change. |
These are drop chances, not guaranteed weekly or daily awards. A low chance explains why players may trade for a Core rather than wait for a random drop, but rarity alone does not establish a universal Platinum price. Offers vary with current supply, demand and the items each trader wants.

Account eligibility
- Your account must be Mastery Rank 2 or higher.
- PC players and players using Cross Platform Save must have TennoGuard 2FA enabled, as specified in Digital Extremes’ trading FAQ.
- You need access to a trading location: a Clan Dojo with a Trading Post or Maroo’s Bazaar.
- You and the other player must have enough Credits for the tax displayed by the trade interface.
If a requirement is missing, the game can prevent the trade before the confirmation stage. Enabling 2FA or changing account settings may not immediately solve an already-open trade window; close the session, meet the requirement, then start a new trade.

Cross-platform account settings
For a trade with someone on another platform, Cross Platform Play must be enabled. Cross Platform Save is a separate account feature. Digital Extremes’ Update 37 patch notes state: “You can now trade and gift with players regardless of their Cross Platform Save status!” That change means Cross Platform Save status by itself is not a prohibition on trading, but the account and platform settings in the trading FAQ still apply.
In practical terms, confirm that both players are signed into accounts allowed to interact through cross-platform play. If the other player is on a different platform and cross-play is disabled on either side, resolve that setting before attempting the trade again.
How to trade a Legendary Core
Option 1: Use a Clan Dojo Trading Post
- Join or visit a Clan Dojo that has a Trading Post.
- Approach the Trading Post and interact with it.
- Select the other player from the available list, or accept that player’s trade invitation.
- In the trade window, open the Mods section and select the Legendary Core you want to offer.
- Check the other player’s item, the Credit tax and the complete offer. Make sure the quantity and the exact Mod are what you intended.
- Both players review the final screen, confirm that they have enough Credits, and accept. The game completes the exchange only after both confirmations.
Option 2: Use Maroo’s Bazaar
- Travel to Maroo’s Bazaar and enter the public trading area.
- Locate the other player and interact with that player to open a trade.
- Choose the Mods category, then select the Legendary Core.
- Review the offered items and the tax displayed for the transaction.
- Confirm only after both players agree on the offer and each can cover the required Credits.
The interface can require a second confirmation if either player changes the offer. Treat any changed item as a new deal: recheck the Mod, the number of items and the tax before accepting again.

Where the Core appears in the trade menu
Legendary Cores show up under Mods, alongside the other Mods in your collection. They are not listed as a Dojo decoration, a regular resource, an Arsenal component or a piece of equipment. Open the category selector in the trade window, choose Mods, and use the search field or scroll through the collection.

If the Core is missing, first verify that it is still in your inventory and has not already been consumed. Then check that you are the player offering the item rather than the player receiving it, because each side sees only its own inventory when selecting what to place. Finally, cancel and reopen the trade after changing locations or account settings; a stale trade session may not reflect a newly eligible account.
How the 1,000,000-Credit tax works
The Warframe Wiki lists a 1,000,000-Credit tax per Legendary Core. The trade window displays the applicable tax before the final confirmation. Both players should carry enough Credits to satisfy the amount shown for the transaction; do not rely on an assumed balance or on the other player paying it for you.
| Item being traded | Recorded tax | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| One Legendary Core | 1,000,000 Credits | Confirm the amount shown in your live trade window and ensure the required balance is available before accepting. |
| More than one Legendary Core | 1,000,000 Credits for each Core, according to the Warframe Wiki listing | Multiply the listed per-Core amount for the quantity offered, then verify the total displayed by the interface. |
The tax is separate from whatever items, Platinum or other consideration the players negotiate. A player can agree to an offer and still fail to complete the exchange if the required Credits are unavailable at confirmation.

Cross-platform trading is supported when the account settings and eligibility rules are satisfied. Update 37’s official notes explicitly say that players can trade and gift “regardless of their Cross Platform Save status.” For a player on another platform, enable Cross Platform Play and make sure the account meets the Mastery Rank and TennoGuard 2FA requirements that apply to that account type.

Cross-platform support does not remove the tax or change the item’s location in the interface. You still select the Core from Mods, review the same trade window and complete both confirmation steps. If the player cannot be found, check that both accounts are using compatible cross-play settings and that neither account is restricted from trading.
Should you trade the Core or use it?
There is no fixed market price that makes one choice correct for every player. Compare the following four quantities before accepting an offer.
| Decision factor | Question to ask | How it affects the decision |
|---|---|---|
| Negotiated player offer | What items or amount of Platinum is the other player actually offering now? | A strong, useful offer can outweigh the convenience of instant fusion; a poor offer may not. |
| Fusion cost avoided | How much Endo and how many Credits would your chosen Mod require to reach maximum rank? | The more expensive the upgrade, the greater the practical value of keeping the Core. |
| Mod backlog | Do you have a high-rank-cost Mod you need immediately, or several Mods waiting for resources? | A Core is more valuable as a time-saving upgrade when it unlocks a build you are ready to use. |
| Current trading need | Do you need Platinum or a specific trade good more urgently than you need a max-ranked Mod? | Liquidity and a needed item can justify trading even when the Core would save future fusion resources. |
Use the Core when
- You have a high-rank-cost Mod that is central to a build you are using now.
- Your Endo or Credit reserves are low, and replacing those resources would take significant play time.
- The available trade offer is vague, speculative or clearly less useful than the guaranteed fusion savings.
Trade the Core when
- The other player offers items or Platinum that solve an immediate need.
- You already have sufficient Endo and Credits, or no important Mod waiting for maximum rank.
- You have checked current player listings and are negotiating from recent offers rather than an old screenshot or remembered price.
Community listing services such as Warframe.market can help you see current player listings, but a listing is not a guaranteed sale price. Compare several recent offers, account for the 1,000,000-Credit tax, and value only items you can actually use.
Common problems and fixes
The trade option is unavailable
Check Mastery Rank first. If the account is below Rank 2, trading is not available. On PC or for an account using Cross Platform Save, confirm that TennoGuard 2FA is enabled. For a cross-platform partner, verify Cross Platform Play on the relevant accounts.

The Core is not visible
Open the Mods category rather than Resources or Equipment. Confirm that the Core remains unused and that you are selecting from the offering player’s inventory. If the category is stale, cancel the trade and initiate a fresh session.
The trade will not confirm
Read the tax line and check the Credit balance for both participants. Review every item after any change, then wait for both players’ confirmation prompts. A changed offer can reset confirmation, which is intentional protection against accepting an altered deal.
The other player is on another platform
Enable Cross Platform Play and confirm that the account is permitted to trade. Cross Platform Save is not required solely because the other player uses a different platform, according to Update 37’s statement, but the separate account requirements still apply.
Bottom line for a Legendary Core trade
Legendary Cores are tradeable Mods. Use a Clan Dojo Trading Post or Maroo’s Bazaar, select the Core from Mods, and check the live tax before both players confirm. Budget 1,000,000 Credits per Core according to the Warframe Wiki, meet the Mastery Rank 2 and applicable TennoGuard 2FA requirements, and enable Cross Platform Play for cross-platform trades. Keep the Core if its fusion savings are more valuable to your next build; trade it only when the negotiated offer and your immediate resource needs justify giving up that guaranteed max-rank upgrade.
